Wicked art show, Mike! It would’ve been 10 x better if I could personally be there.

  9. soyuneik on July 22, 2008 at 1:22 am

Whatcha doing? I saw that post and then poof. It’s cool I should actually be serious for a minute and give you props.
The paintings, from what I’ve seen so far, are brilliant. I love them. Congratulations on a well deserved successful show.
I really wish I could have seen the detail in person, even with my crazy imagination I know its not the same. The last picture, far left, whats the name of that one? Sorta makes me feel like being eaten alive, consumed in his own excess. Drowning.

  10. Illara on July 22, 2008 at 12:25 am

congrats on the glorious success! πŸ™‚

loved all the art concepts that you did πŸ˜‰

wow… that title wall is amazing. pure class! Pity about the advertising though… seems to take away from the artistic side of things…

  18. Curiosa on July 21, 2008 at 11:52 am

Wow the exhibit looks great. Good to hear it was a success. Dude, your “Me & Icon” pic is so low res your face looks like it’s been blurred out just like on TV. lmao

This isn’t related but thought I’d share, did you hear that TX approved last week the largest wind power project for pollution-free energy. Also, the first green hotel is going to be built in San Antonio near Sea World & did you know that this year there is more ice in the Arctic than there was last year? Oh & check this out, an Alabama man is still drawing at the age of 112. Here’s the link:
    Later :)~

  19. Jaclyn on July 21, 2008 at 11:43 am

Hey! Thanx for the info and fotoes! You look happy and gorgeous! And I feel so proud, dont know why πŸ™‚ Your pictures arouse feelings and awaken thoughts, feed my mind. I’d like to describe it but i can’t, maybe there’s no need to, to seek for words, art speaks to soul, language in no need here, i guess. I like very much the drawings on the bottoms of shoes – roses and skulls, Chester shud make a tat like that ))) Now I’m listening to Kerrang’s exclusive β€œMaiden Heaven” tribute album REAL DOPE! And thou i cant visit PR concerts I’d like to thank you for Street Drum Corps – that’s the shit! Hope sooner or later get mp3 of your collab with them wow πŸ˜€

  20. asianotter on July 21, 2008 at 11:34 am

    Cute kitten ShadowerLiltani! πŸ™‚

  23. Xenith on July 21, 2008 at 8:48 am

YARRRRR! I always knew Joe would make a great pirate! lol

Mike what are the stickers Joe and Shepard Fairey are wearing? Some secret underground pirate club? or are they to get into the show? …I like to think the first.

  24. ShadowerLiltani on July 21, 2008 at 8:30 am

I’ve mentioned this before, but I don’t know what comments you do and don’t read. My father named our new kitten Spike, and my dad knows nothing about Linkin Park. I gave him the Spike Minoda McCall name later on. He’s got a spikey tuff of hair between his eyes, too. Anyways, my dad took a beautiful photograph of him, and I thought you’d really like it:

  25. JPkaukonen on July 21, 2008 at 8:12 am

  30. Fishgoingwest on July 21, 2008 at 5:46 am

ha ha! Once the exhibition opened, you would not be able to take any photo in front of your paint.

I have seen some pics taken by the fans,it seemed that the exhibition’s very popular.

  39. ShadowerLiltani on July 20, 2008 at 10:52 pm

Anywho, thank you once again for the best concert of my life. This was something I wanted to do for a very long time, and the friend I brought with me (dude next to me with the red hair and glasses) had just as much fun as I did. You gave us something wonderful, and I wish I knew a way to pay you all back for it. Regardless, have a nice rest, and, if I have the money and transportation again, see you at the next Projekt Revolution!!!

P.S. Those photographs are awesome. I like, taking a picture of an artist, in front of his artwork. Our art is a piece of us, afterall.

  40. ShadowerLiltani on July 20, 2008 at 10:49 pm

I thought the people pushing each other was hilarious. Granted, this was my first time in a pit, but, it’s just funny to me that I’m such a short person and people couldn’t really move me. I noticed Chester has a new tattoo, it looks awesome. I think people need to stop ragging on Joe about “just standing there”. Joe is the most laid back guy out of all of you, and he’s just not a in your face, everybody look at me person. Joe does not have to jump around all crazy. You could clearly see he was enjoying himself. Oh, and who was the band with the drums? I didn’t like when they did their own music, but their solo in the beginning and with Rob was very artistic, and I really enjoyed it.

  41. ShadowerLiltani on July 20, 2008 at 10:40 pm

I would like to thank you for the show in Hartford tonight. This was my first time seeing you guys live in person. I was the hyped up chick with the Foster’s Home t-shirt, but you probably couldn’t really see me… I think my favorite parts of the show were towards the end of I think SIB or Faint, when you came near our group and was head banging with the guitar, it was such a Mike Shinoda thing. Singing Happy Birthday to Chris was great, too. You guys looked like you were having so much fun. Rob’s solo was fantastic, and Chester was classic Chester, what we love best about him, ya know? Brad was epic. Phoenix was frigging cute as ever and Mt. Hahn was… glorious.

  42. shinoda_me on July 20, 2008 at 9:05 pm

whoa!!! so big …. WINE and ICON are my favourites… i wish i were fortunate enough to own them… or atleast stand before them in admiration ….. so awesome Mike… so freaking awesome … i cant wait for the Current TV thing…

no matter how much i love these pieces, SHH stays my ever-favourite =)
i still wish i owned that one (sigh)

    have a nice day =)

  54. HMF on July 20, 2008 at 11:44 am

Nice pics Mike!! Wish I could’ve come, but I live in TX and I don’t think my parents would let me go to LA to see some pix. As they would put it! lol!! Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and best wishes in all that you do!! U rox Mike!!

  55. Carla on July 20, 2008 at 11:39 am

ColorScheming: Daaang, now I really want my parents to come home right now so I can ask them. lol, maybe I’ll call them. I think my cousin drove from LA to Vegas last time we stayed there before going back to the airport together. I live on the East Coast, btw. Anyways, you answered my question of how long it’d take to get there. Unfortunately, we’re just going for my Dad’s reunion with his college mates, so I’m sure they’ll be out for most of the time. If we have free time, I’ll certainly see if we’ll have a chance to drop by! Awesome pics, thanks for posting!

  56. ColorScheming on July 20, 2008 at 11:07 am

Finally.. after all this way from vegas and waiting in a line for three hours… this pciture was right before i met you.. all that way to blank out due to being so nervous, and all i said was omg…. bullshit! haha. I meant to tell you how much your art and music means!

So here are the two decks i have from you, i also bought the art book from this show as well as from your old art. as well as a shirt.

Over all it was a great expierence. Your art is incredible. Thanks for letting us all get autographs.

  57. ColorScheming on July 20, 2008 at 11:07 am

If you want a fans perspective of the events…..

We drove from vegas to go see the art ..4 hours of nothingness…haha

So we finally get there, get in line three hours early.. and there were people that were there before us…

Shot of the outside from the line.

Picutres from the line…. While you were doing interviews (im assuming interviews)

  58. sasummsumm on July 20, 2008 at 11:05 am

wow congratulations the show looks awesome, you must be pretty proud πŸ˜‰
cant wait for the second part

  59. ColorScheming on July 20, 2008 at 10:44 am

Carla, convince your parents to take you from vegas! I live in vegas, i drove down for the show and autograph signing! The exhibit is great, plus tell them its a learning expiernce :).. i imagine it would be hard to convince parents, thank god i could just drive down there haha. lol good luck!

  60. ColorScheming on July 20, 2008 at 10:43 am

They should of gotten a picture of the line right when the doors were about to open, i drove in from vegas got there at 5 the line had already started! when 8 rolled around the line was three times the size of that picture. It was an amazing show. You are very talented! keep up with the art and music

  61. navee on July 20, 2008 at 10:41 am

hey shepard fairey! cool i asked once about what you think about his art and the obey thing he is a legend in LA really cool that you know him like the new pics see ya soon in phoenix cant wait!

  63. Umi on July 20, 2008 at 10:28 am

πŸ˜„ The last picture just made me laugh, dunno why ^^” Btw, do you know this German rapper Sido? Just google for pictures of him and you’ll know why I ask you this (‘though I think, you’ve already seen him on MTV Germany when you were here… I mean, if you’ve seen this F?)(&%Β§ Schnuffel rabbit – the one in you Sirens and Silence vid – than you sure haven’t missed Sido, his videos are played all the time). Just in case you’re too lazy to google by yourself:

(I’m not a fan of his music, but he’s kinda funny… and seeing him reminds me of your pictures)

  64. Emilia on July 20, 2008 at 10:11 am

It looks amazing, congrats to you, Mike.

  67. cuz on July 20, 2008 at 10:00 am

dude, we have some kind of telepathic connection or something πŸ˜€ really, today’s morning i was worrying that there’s not so much photos from the art show and few hours later you share some πŸ˜€ nah, that must mean something πŸ˜€ photos are great, cool there’s more of them as well as some reviews. still hope for more ;p i LOVE your huge smile, looks like you had really great time at the show πŸ˜€ can’t wait when i finally get your / my art book πŸ˜€ and the shoes… great!

Wish I can see it Mike, but the book shall have to do. Counting down the days till the shoes are here too!
And here you are, please check out [LPUMB>The Underground>The List]. Again it is concerning the LPU and how it has changed, it is not meant to complain, but simply in inform. Thanks as always Mike!

  72. I_B_Long on July 20, 2008 at 9:06 am

isnt the second link the same article you posted a few days ago by the hundreds? i reall like the pic wiht you in front of “icon” really shows how big it is (tho i dont know how tall you are)
and in the first article it says the second part of the show is called “die” instaed of “dies” which im sure you noticed yourself, so i’m shutting up now. im still sad i cant see it anf cant even buy the artbook, but im still working on finding a way around that….
enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  73. Shinizzle3 on July 20, 2008 at 9:04 am

  76. Carla on July 20, 2008 at 8:49 am

Awesome photos and artwork, as always. I would love to convince my parents to get us over to LA from Las Vegas next week, haha. Anyways, I’m curious. What type of paint did you use on your pieces? Also in SONG, the snipplets of what it seems to be celebrity headlines and photos in the background, can you explain how you did that? I thought it looked very cool.

  77. pbizkit33 on July 20, 2008 at 8:46 am

The artwork looks amazing Mike. Congratulations to you. See you guys Wednesday in NJ. I will be the guy with the Dodger Blue Yankee hat in the 7nth row.
