hyper ironic tees

September 15, 2008

Hyper irony.

It looks as though the shirts ought to be a reference to something, but they aren’t. It looks like you should understand what they mean, but they don’t mean anything.

more tees here:

thanks to charlie bravo for the heads up on this one. very funny

the coffee’s one was really the best! XD

  2. alichino78 on September 19, 2008 at 7:12 am

yeah i may agree to what the other said about easy to copy the design and stuff but when some friend of yours ask you where did you get it and tell them how. better prepare for their reactions either they think you’re a cheapskate or you’re not being original to speak your mind. it might be a good idea to be original i might think of my own too. i’ve got one now that doesn’t get off my head and better i shut up before somebody steals the idea.

  3. shinoda_me on September 18, 2008 at 9:01 am

  6. ShadowerLiltani on September 16, 2008 at 8:40 pm

DOOMGUY13, not too hurt the website, but it’s actually cheaper to print out that picture and take it to the mall for a dude to put it on your shirt for like, ten bucks. (Could even be less.) It won’t be as professionally made, but that’s the world of semi-bootlegs, ya know?

  7. ShadowerLiltani on September 16, 2008 at 8:37 pm

HYPER IRONY!!! YAYYERS!!! (I’m high on orange soda) I want the cartwheel t-shirt so bad, that is adorable. My step-dad has a good sarcastic tee that says “keep staring, I might do a trick”. I’ll be waiting for you to wear these to upcoming concerts. I wouldn’t be surprised if your whole wardrobe revolved around your shoes and t-shirts. Okay, dude, you talk about your stuff a lot, and wear your stuff a lot, and I’m a writer so I infer stuff, okay? Comes with the territory. I’m not a stalker freak person, I’m just too damn intelligent.

  8. analoggirl on September 16, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Hahaha, I love it! That was clever. Btw, it’s ironic that you – celebrity blogger – are mocking hipsters. :p

  9. Doomguy13 on September 16, 2008 at 6:58 pm

Best. Shirts. EVER. I just need the money. I am pretty much 100% poor.

  10. Sabie on September 16, 2008 at 6:38 pm

Hey, Mike! I am Sabina. I was writing to you when I was in Britain. I am, actually from Kazakhstan, but now am studying in US – Rochester. I’ve been to yr concert in Manchester in January 27, and I’d love to see you again. How is yr new album coming?
    Best Wishes,

  11. IGrabbedChestersWrist on September 16, 2008 at 6:11 pm

I should get the “I’m out of clean forks” shirt. I stabbed the roof of my mouth the other day because I was using a knife to eat olives with… Since I couldn’t find a clean fork or spoon.

  12. NeneLP88 on September 16, 2008 at 4:28 pm

Yap, very funny! =D And cool idea. =)

For sure, wearing one of those, walking on the street, everyone would look at you like “hey, what the fuck? O_o”

LOL @ “Do we have any AA batteries?” “Looks like i’d better grab an umbrella.” “Does this smell ok to you?” (YUK!) “Has anyone seen my keys?” too.

  13. shieldnoshield on September 16, 2008 at 4:19 pm

Hey Mike, just had a quick question, might be top secret or something, but I’m really curious as to whether this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFm7xZmuJsU is LP or FM, or at least the backing track, cause towards the end it really sounds like Chester, and at 2:08, that REALLY sounds like your voice. If it’s not, you should at least mention it, because it’s a really good imitation and (at least to me, and hopefully to you too) it sounds DAMN good.

  14. durg on September 16, 2008 at 4:03 pm

and something else that was funny today..
so me & my friends are sitting in the art room for art club & the teacher says something about
“putting lincoln park out of business”
& i looked up at her like O.o uhh what? & my friends looked at me & laughed like “lincoln! the school! geeze, i knew you would think lp..”
    it was pretty great.

  15. durg on September 16, 2008 at 4:01 pm

i think the best thing about this is that its totally true.. if i wore one of those everyone would be like O.o whats that mean??
    XD lmao, itd be great.
i want the cartwheel one.. just to wear it & everytime people ask i could do a cartwheel with a legit excuse..

  16. JayRod13 on September 16, 2008 at 3:41 pm

  18. sasummsumm on September 16, 2008 at 1:06 pm

  19. Madlen on September 16, 2008 at 12:11 pm

hahah omg…this is so funny…i’m getting one like this:Doh btw congrats on the Right Now instrumental on the trailer for The Family That Preys:D

  20. rockermeg on September 16, 2008 at 12:10 pm

    Ohh man…not another nerdy logo t-shirt fad…

Some of the ones in Camden(London)Market are pretty funny. “FECK. The Irish Connection” XD

    “Alcoholica. Drank ‘Em All”

The Transformers’ logo with a glasses-nose-eyebrow gag piece over the top: “Robots in Disguise”

    Hehe…i just bought the Paramore,Riot! one (-:

PS-who is this mysterious Charlie Bravo???Wasn’t that kid on the Where’d You Go video called Mikey Bravo?????

  21. IGrabbedChestersWrist on September 16, 2008 at 11:49 am

This will probably be the new fashion craze. Remember the stupid logo shirts like Pepsi, Coke, Cereal boxes? People walking around in bright yellow Honey Nut Cheerios, Corn Pops, Froot Loops, etc? Those were awful. Pass!

  22. cuz on September 16, 2008 at 11:11 am

haha, funny ;p i always wanted to have a shirt with a ‘it’s my birthday’ sign ;p

  23. maria on September 16, 2008 at 11:06 am

Hi Mike) And let’s say that it’s really funny though it’s just the irony on our modern vanity life that goes sometimes with useless things we are obliged to buy by those producers and shops). We buy more then we actually need. When I am thinking about it, it makes me laugh through tears)) )
So of course we all can mention more about it), more then an eye can meet)

  24. clara110 on September 16, 2008 at 10:30 am

i don’t really like these.. but my P.E.-teacher has great ones.. they’re just funny.xDD
for example one finger’s (? lol.xD) talking like “less talk-more listen” and the another one’s like (in very small letters.. you don’t see it at first sight): nerd.XD
the other ones are just like comics without words.. i think they’re much better than these here. i don’t really like them (and also don’t understand everything.. what’s that with the fork? xP)

  25. Mikeshi_Linkfort on September 16, 2008 at 9:42 am

It was possible when that fashionable, but not now. I for example prefer a vest with interesting figure or an inscription and it is desirable black color.

  26. 2T_LP on September 16, 2008 at 8:58 am

to YANTYAN…yea i saw it :D:D:D the video really have background music from the song right now-fort minor !! :D:D
its from my fav. songs…lyrics are soo real

  27. lucky_cat on September 16, 2008 at 8:46 am

    someday I´ll buy it. I´m sure 😉
( I took this picture today after I was reading the blog.)

  28. Delgada on September 16, 2008 at 8:12 am

I know I’m supposed to be open and non jugemental, but check this out, and tell me it not weird.

    I find it quite funny.

  29. yanTyan on September 16, 2008 at 7:08 am

    Message from LP time
Oh nothing important, I was checking out the fall movies and saw that The Family That Preys has the instumental of Fort Minor’s ‘Right Now’ in the trailer, watch

  31. PankakeMunky on September 16, 2008 at 5:31 am

i don’t think i would ever wear these tshirts. it was a fashion craize but i don’t think it’ll come back. but once in awhile, you’ll catch those random people wearing these shirts with the trucker hat. but yeah, i hope i don’t see mike wearing one of these. that would be a bit awkward

  32. kathrine on September 16, 2008 at 4:54 am

anyway, thats not what i would like to say right now….
Mike,i have a question for you about a LOOONG time ago and i know you wont answer it (am 100% sure you got better things to do) but HERE I GO :How did you and anna meet?i want the true story!!was it romantic?im sure it was! Well, that’s it…

  33. skindesbous on September 16, 2008 at 4:50 am

    O_o hahaha

  34. Aqua101 on September 16, 2008 at 4:07 am

U r joking?! Elitist music nerd wearing such t-shirt? :O…….I wouldnot just dare to wear one, not really my type of t-shirt. But gotta admit some are funny, I remember long time ago, I used to wear one saying something like…”the more I know men, the more I like my dog”…with a dog picture on it…HA-HA-HA…is there specific meaning for it? Well, I don’t really know (or even care), just sound & look funny. LMAO…≈♥≈

  35. Senzaikyuu on September 16, 2008 at 4:03 am

These shirts are great :/ bring these to Greece or i suicide !

  36. MissNatalie1984 on September 16, 2008 at 3:51 am

ha! i want a cartwheel one. they’re funny.

mike you need a “i’m the emcee in the band” top. =D

  37. I_B_Long on September 16, 2008 at 12:24 am

i want one! too funny! ….dont call you mother ironic, she’s not an iron!

  38. axrinekey on September 16, 2008 at 12:22 am

Cool designs, but not my type. ;D
I don’t really like to wear shirts like that :/

the words there are really… xD weird, but funny..
seems like they have some meaning, but… just can’t find what it really means…
like what you said, “they doesn’t mean anything”.

  39. soyuneik on September 15, 2008 at 10:41 pm

Yea, its ok tho, I post random shit when I’m bored too. But I wouldn’t be caught dead with one of those on my body. lol.
Not my style. Most of my tees have some ill ass graffiti on them (WST), anything else and its a tank top.

  40. WTF on September 15, 2008 at 8:46 pm

Mike needs a shirt that says:

“I sit on the internet all day posting random shit”

    jk mike.

  41. murry on September 15, 2008 at 8:21 pm

Haha… Is it wrong that I want one of those shirts?

I saw a guy with a shirt with Franklin from Arrested Development on it and it said, “George Bush doesn’t care about black puppets.” I almost died.

  42. Anstice on September 15, 2008 at 8:15 pm

Haha, “We should..FEED THE DOG.” Nice. I have to ask you though, with a hope that you’ll reply. I’m in an English 301 class this semester. We’re actually studying Irony (I’m an English Education/Creative Writing Major. What do you want?). I was wondering, though. How would YOU define irony? We’re all struggling so much with it, and it seems ironic (haha) that you posted this in your blog. So, what’s your definition of irony??

  43. Carla on September 15, 2008 at 8:13 pm

LMAO sweeeeet designs there. They’re really clever, but I don’t think I’ll be caught wearing one to save the embarassment. Though, I think my brother would like to take a chance.

  44. Neffer on September 15, 2008 at 7:31 pm

Mike you bring up the most random stuff! Haha you should get one of those shirts it would be GREAT lmao You funny boy!!!

  45. zimminator on September 15, 2008 at 7:31 pm

  46. Jhuryn on September 15, 2008 at 7:29 pm
