artist greg simkins’ IT WANDERS EAST show is winding down at josh liner’s gallery in NYC…being in LA, i didn’t get to see the show in person, but i hope to catch it when it travels WEST to GALLERY 1988 soon. greg is one of my favorite new artists; he’s a remarkably talented and authentic dude. keep an eye on him and his amazing work.

What a beautiful fantasy/almost horror kind of style. I like it when someone takes fantasy/horror to a new level. It’s got a little bit of that Nightmare Before Christmas vibe, but not as commercial, which I really like.

Yeah, he is very good. His artwork looks special. Talking about art, I should tell you that I saw the show of Jeff McMillan at http://www.suru-la.com and I liked all his paintings a lot, especially the collaboration with Joe. When I saw your collaboration with Jeff exposed as two separate paintings, but related to each other, I changed my mind. Now I find this collaboration very original and innovative! It looks like “Mike Shinoda versus Jeff McMillan”. Please, excuse me for my previous negative comment, saying that your painting wasn’t completed! Looking forward to your art collaboration with Joe! Both are really amazing artists! I think I like Kris Kuksi more. (sorry!) My eyes literally popped out of my head when I saw a picture of him next to “Imminent Utopia” on his website. Well, maybe I can possibly use one of Craola’s pieces for my AP Art History report. Unless galleries don’t qualify…Either way, I have to convince my brother or aunt to bring me to one of these shows!

I wish i could go to his exhibition but it’s impossible, and it really needs time to look and think over the world he’s created, very interesting things!

hhmmm…..me likey. and let me be the first one to say this time: i wish i could go (to thew kris kuksi show as well) but i dont live in the US (for now)stupid army. then again even if i did live in the US it would probalby be nowhere near LA or NY.
speaking of the army, you guys should definitely go to kuwait sometime to play for the troops. they’d appreciate it.

Happy October 1st! I’m going to ask you a question because I never do, and I want to… damnit! Whatca gonna be for Halloween???????????? huh?? huh huh huh huh??? That is my question!!!!!😐

  20. AliceXD on October 1, 2008 at 8:35 pm

wow… his art reminds me of something along the lines of beetlejuice, mother goose nursery rhymes, alice in wonderland, dr suess and just all around fantasy thrown in a blender and blended up…. quite amazing actually… i like the artwork alot..

  21. kihomi on October 1, 2008 at 7:48 pm

you’re totally right his a very talent artist!……I wonder if someday you will make something with him ….that’s would be so interesting..cause it’s seem you don’t have the same style so sometimes when you combine two different things goes out something totally new and amazing!
kisses and hugs….i hope to see your new art here soon….just a little🙂

Interesting… Speaking of 1988, I hear there was a “No on Prop. 8” fundraiser there the other night. Did you go? ‘Cause, if you did, that would be really awesome. Of if you just generally wanted to publicly support the cause, that’d be cool, too… You know, here on your blog or elsewhere. Because that totally needs to be rejected, don’t you think? Not cool to legislate hate, don’t you agree?
