LYRICS IN PRINT #2

“Escapism” by Keith Murray

High as a motherf**ker / Zonin’ on cloud nineteen as the Def Squad takes you / On another eerie place of a dark side

I escape from the world

To show niggaz that my style is superb

For what it’s worth, I’m gettin’ off planet Earth

But I gotta redefine gravity first

So I figure, I get my guns and that would bust the biggest cap

From the demand of the trigger

I’m equipped to dip with a knapsack

And a survival kit with blunts and shit

I’m in all black with a face muzzle

Wanna double to NASA, to hijack a space shuttle

More anxious than curiosity

I enter the back door with animosity, yeah, here’s Murray

Searchin’ for the astronauts, checkin’ my watch

Determined the time I had to be out

I saw my prey without a second delay

Suited up, strapped down, straight and on my way

For five seconds to liftoff I was in the Helm

when I escaped from the world…

I went through a Milky Way and stars

And landed on my destination, which was Mars,

(whoa, shit)

This planet was foreign and new

As I’m puffin’ on a blunt, observin’ the view

To my surprise, a spaceship arrived

Out came a Martian with six fingers and three eyes

He spoke a bleeky type of dialect

(Bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek)

But understood my form of intellect

I said, “I’m Keith Murray from the planet Earth

Where I’m psychosomatic and homicidal with a verse”

My hypercritical form of words busts his brains

And then the whole atmosphere changed

(what the f**k?)

I was surrounded by some Martians in the hut about to front

I used my last resort and pulled out the blunt

Lit it, got the whole Martian crew blitted

So now’s my chance to try to get acquitted

I said, “I escaped from the planet Earth

To let my mind untwirl because I’m mad at the world

And the murder wasn’t premeditated

My language was just misinterpretated.”

One acknowledged I’m right, and pulled out the peace pipe (Aight?)

About to set the vibes right

He lit it with his finger, I smelled the Martian Buddha linger

I felt good ’cause I released some anger

No sooner than the cease of the herb ignite

I was headed back to Earth at the speed of light

Upon my return niggaz thought I was in jail

Nah kids, I escaped from the world…

I don’t know which is my favorite part, “I’m equipped to dip with a knapsack / And a survival kit with blunts and shit,” or “I went through a Milky Way and stars / And landed on my destination, which was Mars”

well…i may give the dude points for originality, uniqueness, work of art for him or for some (?), the confidence to waste time and energy to compose it, determination, passion and at least a soundtrack maybe for members of the Scientology cult.

  7. Snails on October 12, 2008 at 12:25 pm

Randomly enough i have heard of that Keith Murray, only because i googled Keith Murray from ‘We Are Scientists’ and got results with him, the rapper and a famous vase maker…

QOTSA ‘little sister’ has some pretty bizarre lyrics..
“Hey sister are you all alone?
    I’m standing out your window
Hey little sister can I come inside there
I want to show you all my love
I want to be the only one
I know you like nobody ever, baby”

I got AWESOME lyrics!!! from julien Doré – Pudding Morphina, this is a french singer. Seriously this guy has a wonderful voice and can sing in many differents ways… Her’s one of his totally crazy songs :

And i was born dead in your home[...]

My feet are smelling beer and bread/My nose gives funk rythm to them/Between my big balls of business man[...]

And i was born in morphina/i had to learn to breath and swim/Into my glass of hospital/i’ll send you stolen flowers/by UPS car in your bath[...]

My sick brain/is leaving my hand [...]

    LOL
    Escapism, huh?

    And suddenly Martians appear..
    HAHA.
    Funny, that’s what amused me.

“Out came a Martian with six fingers and three eyes,
He spoke a bleeky type of dialect,
(Bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek)”

You know, I can really imagine the song’s video where he lands on Mars with green aliens.

    The song’s weird.
    Bleek bleek bleek. xD HAHA.

  18. Lucie on October 11, 2008 at 2:32 pm

do you want something really schocking ? the song : “do you wanna fuck” by BYZ. these are probably the most explicit lyrics i’ve ever heard. it is some kind of disgusting. you’re warned hahaha.

  22. ShadowerLiltani on October 11, 2008 at 12:21 pm

Those are really bad lyrics… You’re right, things do stand out more in print. I think he’s obsessed with blunts.

  29. PRIS on October 11, 2008 at 9:54 am

LOL. Some wild imagination over there, and it’s definitely not the best that i’ve seen. Gosh the lyricist could have come up with something better. Mike do tell us more about Chester’s condition too, it’s worrying for all his supporters to not know how he’s doing now. Please~ Anyway hope that he’s feeling better already. Mike you take care too okay, don’t fall sick! That applies to the rest of LP too! Take care, drink lots of water, have ample rest and just for Chester, GET WELL SOON! ;D

  30. mike_n_LP_4ever on October 11, 2008 at 9:50 am

Lol WoW! I like the beat of the song, it got a good sense of vibe in it. I haven’t heard of this song before, but my brother did. Ha! When I played the song in my room, my brother heard it playing, so he opened my door, and he asked, “You know this song Cati?” And I said “No…” and then all his friends came in my room and started rapping through the whole thing! I was all like, WHAAAAT!!!!! lol. Mike you need to post some more of, “LYRICS IN PRINT” they’re pretty interesting.

    Peace <3

No matter what mood im in they always make me smile. :) ……. So keep ‘em coming. :)

  32. Kalini on October 11, 2008 at 8:45 am

Ha-ha, he has a rich imagination. I had to read it 2 times to figure out what he wanted to say, because it looks like a funny story. “Because he was mad at the world, he escaped from the planet Earth, he landed on his destination Mars, pulled out the peace pipe, felt good ’cause he released some anger”. The idea of the song is not bad: being mad at the world and managing to release some anger. But why has he had to write so crazy story about it? I think he can entertain the kids with this song as he has some good lines: “I went through a Milky Way and stars / And landed on my destination, which was Mars”. Mike, thanx for the lyrics and the video! It was very interesting! Krassie K.

  33. FCastro on October 11, 2008 at 7:45 am

Ok, category “bizarre”: The song “Escapism” shows me…Write good and meaningful lyrics – or better good and meaningful songs – is not a god given talent…. This shit shows me again how great YOU guys are…. You write songs with a sound going direct in my ear to the heart and soul. The lyrics touch my mind. They help to settle the thoughts and feelings…. BUT lyrics like “I went through a Milky Way and stars And landed on my destination, which was Mars, (whoa shit)” Oooooohhhh, please……… This makes more confused or better thinking wtf is he talking about…??!!! Really….whoa shit….
Im sorry my english is very bad….:(

I love hip-hop but I’m honestly not feeling that song…the FM and SOB stuff is much better than that :-/

ahahhahhahhahahahaha it’s like “I QUIT! but.. will i still receive my paycheck at the end of the month, btw? o_O”

“(Bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek)”

dude, what the effin’ fuck is that?! xD

anyray, i hope he’ll afford a bling off this song. one day. when we all live in Mars. it’s only 30 seconds away, aight? ¬¬

  50. Randomdudeof2010 on October 11, 2008 at 12:22 am

These space lyrics remind of a verse of this awesome song that goes “I’ve been digging into crates ever since I was living in space Before the rat race, before monkeys had human traits I mastered numerology and big bang theology Performed lobotomies with telekinetic psychology”

  51. NeneLP88 on October 11, 2008 at 12:04 am

    I love crappy lyrics!!

“To my surprise, a spaceship arrived / Out came a Martian with six fingers and three eyes / He spoke a bleeky type of dialect / (Bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek, bleek)”

    This is really crap!! O.O

The band is right: “(what the f**k?)”.. xD

  53. TinaPants320 on October 10, 2008 at 11:53 pm

Some of the lyrics people write are crazy!!!

  54. ColorScheming on October 10, 2008 at 11:35 pm

lol. I think keith murray is whack as it is. this just enforced it. Lately i have been getting heavily into underground rap. I would like to see a song from underground that is whackatastic. its harder to find lame lyrics on an underground emcee than it is on a mainstream artist i know. You should put up soulja boy’s whack ass song. We all know the lyrics. if you can call them lyrics. But those are whackafantical if you ask me.

  55. shinoda_me on October 10, 2008 at 11:34 pm

this guy should write stories for little kids =

on a side-note, could someone tell me the CORRECT lyrics of the last two lines that Mike says on Faraway – Carousel ?
im sick of seeing different versions of it every time…

  58. murry on October 10, 2008 at 10:50 pm

Iiiiinteresting. I was trying to sing along with “Paper Planes” in the car today and couldn’t really decipher any English in there, but I’m pretty sure it’s also about weed. A wise man once sang, “Everybody must get stoned!”
