“Feel Good Inc.” by Gorillaz

City’s breaking down on a camel’s back.

They just have to go ’cause they don’t know wack

So all you fill the streets it’s appealing to see

You wont get out the county, ‘cos you’re bad and free

You’ve got a new horizon It’s ephemeral style.

A melancholy town where we never smile.

And all I wanna hear is the message beep.

My dreams, they’ve got to kiss, because I don’t get sleep, no..

Windmill, Windmill for the land.

Turn forever hand in hand

Take it all in on your stride

It is sinking, falling down

Love forever love is free

Let’s turn forever you and me

Windmill, windmill for the land

Is everybody in?

Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats,

Lining them up-a like ass cracks,

Lay these ponies at the track

Its my chocolate attack.

Shit, I’m stepping in the heart of this here

Care bear bumping in the heart of this here

Watch me as I gravitate

Yo, we gonna go ghost town,

This motown,

With yo sound

You’re in the place

You gonna bite the dust

Can’t fight with us

With yo sound

You kill the INC.

So don’t stop, get it, get it

Until you’re Jet Ahead.

Yo, watch the way I navigate

Don’t stop, get it, get it

We are your captains in it

Watch me navigate,

Don’t stop, get it, get it

We are your captains in it

Steady, watch me navigate

It’s all about rhyming. It’s like every ^2 lines^ theres word that rhymes at the end of the sentence… That’s purely random. I think he considered more of the rhyming than the meaning… Lol >.>

2 Andizzle : Just listen to ‘I am the Walrus’ lyrics XDDDD That’s the best example of LSD lyrics…

  3. tata on October 30, 2008 at 4:08 pm

Rock band has a free song download with bizarre lyrics to very chipper music.. It titled ‘Still Alive’

“I’m not even angry,I’m being so sincere right now
even though you broke my heart and killed me, and torn into pieces
and threw every piece into a fire, as they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a wonderful line, and we’re out of beta, we’re releasing on time
so I’m glad I got burned, Think of all the things we learned for the people that are still alive”

  4. cokiiie on October 30, 2008 at 3:39 pm

    I totally love this music.
But I am Portuguese so I don’t understand much without the dicionary! xD

  5. OneOfAKind on October 29, 2008 at 1:25 pm

Haha yeah, the same thing happened to me with that song! But when I finally searched for the lyrics I liked the song even more.. funny it doesn’t happen a lot with LP songs ๐Ÿ™‚ I think sometimes it’s good you can’t understand the lyrics, in some songs you can hear every little detail of the lyrics and so when it’s a sucky lyrics it makes the whole song sound bad. But when you can’t understand what they’re singing but the rest of the song sounds good it can still be a great song! or maybe this is just an excuse cuz I like random lyrics :]

  6. maria on October 29, 2008 at 11:13 am

well, I’ve read it already but it’s worth reading once again in order to understand it more and so on.
Good luck with the new album making!!!!!!

  7. Andizzle on October 29, 2008 at 9:27 am

“hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease”

…even the Beatles wrote random lyrics!

  8. Jon on October 29, 2008 at 5:49 am – Ever think Kerrang are cocks? I know any press is press, but do they really need to be snide at the end? Immaturity at its finest.
Mike, if you’re interested in Twitter, add – he’s going places… mainly san diego but he’s about.

good to see you guys making music again. you should go to chicago on the 19th for no reason. also when you going to come clean about the barack song?

  9. Shinodabestfriend on October 29, 2008 at 3:05 am

omg Gorillaz… the second band I heard on…. wuuuuu!!! luv u guys!!! โค

  10. axrinekey on October 29, 2008 at 12:45 am

you know, actually I like this song ๐Ÿ˜›
    And I didn’t give a thing about the lyrics….

The song’s still nice though the lyrics might be…. ugh.

I love your entire blog, reading all the comments & stuff. It’s like you get all this love from a whole bunch of people & once in awhile there is someone who pops out and throws a rock your way to get your attention. Hope you a very Happy Halloween & you can have your little party with candy by the pile- (See how I linked this comment with the Where’d you go lyrics) – you may be the artist but that was raw natural talent on my part, son. So Cali for life!!!!

  12. danielpsoad09 on October 28, 2008 at 9:05 pm

Hey Mike ! Is there any minimum chance for you to play here in South America soon? I mean, I know that it won’t be this year, but maybe next year, playing a couple of shows (chile, brasil, argentina) like you did it in Japan back in 2006 for the Summer Sonic fest … I’m asking because your last ‘WORLD’ tour included every part of the world but not South America, which is sad because you have thousands of fans here…

Cheers from a big fan from Chile.

  13. analoggirl on October 28, 2008 at 8:40 pm

I love Feel Good Inc.; “It’s my chocolate attack” is one of my all-time favourite lyrics. lol Also, I find it odd that we’re dissecting the lyrics of a “virtual band.” We can suspend our disbelief when Russel, Noodle, 2D and Murdoc take the stage at an awards show, but somehow we need to give meaning to the “windmill”? Really?

  14. BoC on October 28, 2008 at 8:04 pm

I had no idea that’s what they were saying… Lol.
I have a song. I was in the car with my friends and we were listening to “Slow Motion” by Third Eye Blind. It was just backround music and then I listened to a line of the song and was like, “Whoa!”. The lyrics make sense… I think they’re just a little shocking. Or just really blunt. For example: “Later bathing in the afterglow, Two lines of coke I cut with Drano And her nose starts to bleed A most beautiful ruby red”. It’s not a very happy song. Lol. But it’s still a great song.

  15. PankakeMunky on October 28, 2008 at 6:44 pm

i’m glad you agree with me about this song, mike. the lyrics are pretty out there… lol just don’t try to do karaoke with this song unless you are the master expert in every single lyric in the song. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. ShadowerLiltani on October 28, 2008 at 6:20 pm

It sort of makes sense to me a little bit. It’s like, a modern day hip/hop rock-ish version of “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds”, but nowhere near as epic. Don’t get me wrong, I love this song a lot and find it quite catchy. Sometimes, a song doesn’t need to make sense, you just need to enjoy listening to it. Bleed It Out doesn’t make a heck of a whole lot of sense either, it’s just a fun song. Ever hear Ride On Shooting Star by The Pillows? If you look up the English translation, it’s randomness pwns Feel Good INC’s randomness by like, a lot. My favorite lines are “Orange Slide” and “Revenge Lobster”.

  17. TiffTiff33LP on October 28, 2008 at 5:44 pm

mmmm….ive always wonderd about that song, dude that song makes no sense, but hey,i like it.^^

  19. Hawaii_LP_fan on October 28, 2008 at 4:13 pm

What a crazy song! Reminds me of a video game or anime movie. Kinda funky & far-out there. Although the lyrics seem to ooze depression, sadness, addiction(s) there is a ray of hope when it refers to “L-O-V-E” which makes the world go round! Guess I’m referring to the windmill usage/symbolism? Musical poetry in motion.. :o)
P.S. I really like the character count in this posty box thingie. It’s better than counting those crazy characters after getting the over-the-limit stop sign message. Especially when you’re standing on a soapbox about sumthin’ you’re passionate about. I love the changes Mr. Shinoda! thanks bunches…toodles! :o)

  20. Lee on October 28, 2008 at 4:07 pm

Aww, that’s my best friend. She’s going to be so happy you quoted her. =D
Haha anyway, yeah… odd lyrics. You guys should write some odd lyrics and see if anyone notices. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  21. NeneLP88 on October 28, 2008 at 2:43 pm

I’ve always thought those websites with lyrics were most of all made for not english speakers. I’m italian, and when i don’t understand english lyrics i do search them. But i can understand italian ones (though at times i’d rather not :P). So, do you english speakers need to read lyrics somewhere to understand how weird they are? Just asking, i’m curious ’cause this sounds kind of weird to me.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for Feel Good Inc. ones! I should have looked them up before =P

  22. A_Warm_Place on October 28, 2008 at 12:30 pm

    Hey Mike,

Do you have an official facebook page (Not an LP one , a Mike Shinoda one)?

  23. ZU13KA on October 28, 2008 at 11:56 am

I LOVE THE LAUGH!! ๐Ÿ˜€ n yeah i can see y people would think that the lyrics r crazy, but they only dont make sense if u havent seen the vid 4 it, its all about the dreams of the masses bein under oppresion. the whole windmill thing is all a metaphor. but the laugh stil kills bra mwhahahahahahahaha

  24. miKer0cks on October 28, 2008 at 11:45 am

Hey Mike ๐Ÿ™‚ Really that’s awesome!!! Just like Reading My Eyes!!!! Right? ๐Ÿ˜› Well I wanted to ask you something…It’s almost november so I was wondering if you guys are gonna get to the studio for the new album, just like you said, or will you delay it a bit cause of Chazzy’s injury? How is he doing btw?

  28. maria on October 28, 2008 at 10:34 am

hey, yo Mike. The song is great. The lyrics is quite impressionist to my mind).

  29. durg on October 28, 2008 at 9:22 am

    great song though. XD

  30. Umi on October 28, 2008 at 9:11 am

And once again I’m reminded what I like about LP so much – that the content of the rapped parts actually fits to the rest – or better: both belongs together. It always disturbs me, when there is a song with a good (or at least interesting(?)) melodic verse and then comes the rap part which is all just “I’m so dope and you are NOT!/Lick my whatever/Buy my stuff/Hey yo, I wanna f&%$ you, sh?ยง, fat ass, yo!” … and you could seperate the whole content of the song into two absolute different topics. No matter how much I like the beat, the melody (or the video -lol-), it freaks me out! (Could it be, ’cause I’m not that familiar with rap at all? At least I try my best being open for everything)

  31. lp_fm_fan on October 28, 2008 at 8:07 am

    haha so right.

sometimes i don’t even realize the lyrics. i just sing it in my head and then later when i sing it out loud i realize what the song is talking about like Lips of an Angel by Hinder. I didn’t know that the song was talking about CHEATING on his girlfriend!!! (or wife, idk) i was just disgusted. i don’t like the lyrics, the rhythm is good though.

  32. magzimgo on October 28, 2008 at 7:49 am

hey mike, ive noticed one thing lately. after your post about ‘kindle’, i saw that youre using amazon’s referral program. does this really brings some $? u can leave this question, but still, im not the one who wonders why you doing this. i mean, if you are popular blogger, with constant amount of visitors, it can bring some money for a website update, hosting, etc. that’s ok. but why you, mike shinoda of linkin park, doing this?

  33. Gabry94LinkinParkfan23 on October 28, 2008 at 7:31 am

hey mike.. haha shit thas so cool!! byee miek โค

  34. zimminator on October 28, 2008 at 6:31 am

i love the gorrillaz, but i have noticed that their lyrics are wierd. i never knew all the lyrics though. now that ive seen this, i totally didnt know they were talking about that haha! thats kinda wierd how many people listen to music and dont care about the lyrics. but for some odd reason i listen to them all the time, and mostly if i dont like the lyrics, i dont like the song, but with some exceptions. wierdness. are you excited for halloween!? i am!!!!! lol sorry change of topic, but im way excited to be harley quinn! ๐Ÿ™‚

  35. liope on October 28, 2008 at 5:50 am

hey mike, i just wanted to ask if we will see some of your and Joe’s artwork in the new album…or is it going to be something like MTM??

  36. rockermeg on October 28, 2008 at 5:30 am

    Where have those guys gone???
Or am I just not paying attention :-/ hmmm
    Strange lyrics…
I love the lyrics for Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems’ – when he gets pulled over by the cop. I think that’s fucking amazing
EDIT – I tried to comment on your most recent post “Short Update” but I can’t…did you did you disable comments for that one or should I/we be worried??

  37. MarishkaLP on October 28, 2008 at 4:52 am

hmmm…i didn’t get a point of this song…maybe i’m silly but it seems like nonsense ๐Ÿ™‚

oh and so.. your “advertisement” isn’t working then hahahahahahaahha

    flees to fmmb >.>

@Kalini: not to mention The Good, The Bad And The Queen =P if it’s not weird, it’s not Damon lmao.

  39. NoFace on October 28, 2008 at 4:22 am

Gorillaz is amazing and Jesus, their music kills me! And Feel Good Inc is not an exception. What’s so good about them/ Damon is their unique sound and unique lyrics. They lyrics do tell story – mostly like in magical realism style, which are extra poetic with uber rich imagination. They’re LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. It’s such a pleasure to know there are lyricists who can write novels on their songs instead of just songs in general. Do you think Linkin Park will every write that kind of lyrics? I would pay any, anything to hear that.

  40. Kalini on October 28, 2008 at 3:08 am

Oh, yeah Damon’s crazy lyrics! Damon proved that he could make amazing solo projects totally different from the tracks he made with his band Blur. It’s funny how you may listen to an artist for years and don’t recognize him when he makes solo projects. When I heard Gorrilaz for the first time, I liked it immediately and didn’t recognized Damon’s voice at all. “Feel Good Inc” is so different than “End Of A Century” and “To The End”, but all of them have something in common – Damon’s crazy lyrics. Krassie K.

  41. Carla on October 28, 2008 at 1:17 am

One day, I was singing this in the car and my parents asked if I had a problem because they thought I was going crazy or something. (the volume was pretty low, so all you coul hear was my voice) I dunno, I think I still like the song regardless if the lyrics make sense or not. It may not make any sense, but it sounds good lol. I remember seeing alot of people posting these lyrics on their blogs, myspace profile, or whatever when the song came out and you should have seen of seen the reaction on those because they usually didn’t include any explaination or the song title.

  42. I_B_Long on October 28, 2008 at 12:46 am

teehee, i actually knew those lyrics because…well….. im not really sure, i think i looked them up back when the song was new because i was like….WTF are they talking about???? after looking them up, i still kinda felt that way, only then i thought it was funny. lyrics = schmyrics, that shit dont have to make sense to make money….

  43. Frerard on October 28, 2008 at 12:26 am

there’s no better explanation on why the lyrics makes you wtf other than… it’s Damon Albarn, baybeH.

  44. soyuneik on October 28, 2008 at 12:09 am

::Looks around:: uh, are you waiting for someone to say the different definitions of a windmill?
Its about breakin, lol, yea thats it, b-boy windmills…Hahahaha

  45. Illara on October 27, 2008 at 11:19 pm

LOL! OMG! i always sing along to the song, only the laughing part. xD and i didnt know their lyrics is weird, but actually it is a good music. kind the type of music which i usually tend to listen to. its weird, you know the song.. but you never know the lyrics. xD
