Lyrics In Print: ABC, PART TWO!

November 30, 2008

Coming back to the ABC lyrics from yesterday, I decided to think more about the line: “If you judge a book by the cover / Then you’d judge the look by the lover.”

Maybe some of our college graduates (who studied logic) can correct me if I’m off a bit, but here’s what I think is going on: I decided it’s actually not much of a logic problem. It’s actually illogical.

The line is: if you judge “object 1” by “impression of object 1” then you’ll judge the “impression of object 2” by the “object 2”

Assuming “the look” refers to “your first impression of the lover,” or “the exterior of the lover that gives you an impression,” the logical version of the line would be: “If you judge a book by the cover, then you’d judge the lover by the look”.

Unfortunately, this line doesn’t sound nor sing very well, so ABC changed the wording. Artistic license, I guess.

Just like “Are we human, or are we dancer.”

Or even “Isn’t it ironic…like ray-yee-yain on your wedding day.”

It doesn’t have to make sense! I forgot to mention: even though this song is ridiculous and illogical, I still love it, HAHAHA!

for the killers song “human.” it is “are we human, or are we dancer.” and APPARENTLY, dont quote me, but apparently its dancer(singular) because of a quote by Hunter S. Thompson, the quote was “America is raising a generation of dancers” so im guessing that the killers took that as in, instead of rasising humans, we’re raising dancers. and humans can be singular to represent more than one person “we are all human” so the killers just followed that rule with dancers. thats what i heard at least. so maybe that will clear things up for you, but with the ABC song, i dont know, that sounds like a weird one. πŸ™‚

some people say that it says ‘Are we human, or are we denser’

  4. Curiosa on December 4, 2008 at 9:37 am

The song may b illogical but it actually makes sense 2 me (xcept yipee ai…). The girl dumped the guy & the guys dream of having a future w/her is gone. She was his reason 4 living but now he no longer has a reason 2 live. U can tell when some1’s in luv (mostly some1 u know) b it the begining of relationship or the end. I’ve always assumed they meant u judge a lover by their look & in this case he may be comparing every girl he meets to his x in which he hopes 2 get over soon. U have the friends trying 2 console him & he goes on to mention how hard it is to find true love & he’s trying to figure out a solution calling out to Heaven & everyone else 4 help. Just my take on this song.

I like it when lyrics and art are different and hard to understand. It makes it different and more interesting which is something I think this world really needs, everything seems the same all the time. A lot of the common lyrics people hear in popular songs today aren’t the best either. I think song lyrics that are constantly played on the radio are the worst kind of poetry. That’s just my opinion.

  6. sasummsumm on December 3, 2008 at 10:41 am

mike, this is exactly my theory about why german love music with english lyrics so much^^…i mean germans mostly can speak write and listen english because of their school english…but if i don’t want to really understand the lyrics i can ignore them…if i want to know them i can listen more closely and find out what they are really like and sing along or what ever…^^ if i don’t care or don’t want to understand them i can just listen to the title and look at it as a whole piece of music and enjoy it no matter the stupid text^^ i think this theory of mine makes sense πŸ˜‰

  7. soyuneik on December 3, 2008 at 3:54 am

Haha, that shit makes perfect sense. That’s like me staring at the lottery numbers and coming up with a pattern. They may have mocked me then, but I was $390 dollars richer the next day. >:P
Every time you start a blog post off with the words “First off” I have flashbacks of violent prepubescent girls getting up in my face. Ha! No, seriously. (Freeze, open your mouth and bulge your eyes… Yea, that’s the expression I have right now.)

  8. NoMoreSorrowGirl on December 2, 2008 at 2:08 pm

HAHAHA!Mike, you are the clever and thinker person in this freakin’ world…you made us think of those logical terms…sorry my braincells are not working right now (need to upgrade it)…you have a point BTW:))Take Care:))Love Yah!

  9. Dj on December 1, 2008 at 9:57 pm

    1) The song is just illogical, so stop thinking about it. It’s talking in circles.
    2) That song by the Killers drives me nuts. Seriously, it’s good music but that lyric doesn’t make sense. Just Brandon Flowers trying to be smart-like. Which is fine, just make it make sense.
    3) It’s not ironic, Alanis, just really bad luck. I hope you have/had an indoor wedding.

  10. DaniShinoda on December 1, 2008 at 6:48 pm

Oh Mike, why do you like to do us think? I dont like thinking. HAHA! Just kidding.

But, what it means is your point-of-view of this song in your mind. I’m sure the song actually make your mind, isnt it?

By the way, this post was fun. Just one question:

The line is: if you judge “object 1” by “impression of object 1” then you’ll judge the “impression of object 2” by the “object 2”

  11. asianotter on December 1, 2008 at 5:40 pm

  12. Taniatny on December 1, 2008 at 5:32 pm

You need to add another Blog Topic…”How to Mess with the Fans’ Heads”. I read the post earlier and I couldn’t get it out of my head…not cool! I finally decided I could care less, but that’s obviously not true since here I am posting a comment about it. Illogical it is!

  13. ShadowerLiltani on December 1, 2008 at 5:19 pm

It’s hard for me to find people who like logic problems without talking to you like your stupid. Hurray Mike, for you and your I just wanna have fun attitude. Eh, I’m gonna graduate soon (Associates in Studio Art), but I haven’t studied logic. Maybe if you look up Spock fansites on Google you’ll find better results. But, if you read my comment from last time, yeah, that’s what I said, just with different words. Um, you need to post something about going green soon because I’ve been waiting for a chance to ask you a question regarding that, so I can stay on topic. Cause ya know, I wanna get my question answered. Heheh, who doesn’t?

  14. Shallowroots on December 1, 2008 at 4:58 pm

It’s been a while since my logic class, but as far as I can tell:
The problem with formally determining the logic of the line is we only have a statement (or proposition) to work with. ABC doesn’t provide a conclusion. The proposition itself is easily (and logically) symbolized using the if/then operator. Unfortunately, there’s a lot assumed in the antecedent and consequent, so any logic proof (provided a conclusion is agreed upon) is likely trickier than the simple assumption makes it seem. That said, if we introduce the obvious provisional assumptions regarding judging objects by impressions, then I strongly suspect you are correct, and the statement would prove to be illogical. πŸ™‚

  15. TaylorKenjiLP on December 1, 2008 at 3:39 pm

ahah. yay logic. 3 claps for mikey =] and when you laugh in caps, it makes me think youre laughing either very evilly or very psychotically =P

  16. Steph on December 1, 2008 at 3:32 pm

I believe that the ” look of love” is not their first impression of a person they may want to date, but it’s the look they give you when they love you. So, it is logical, because when you know how a particular person looks at someone when they love them, that only applies to that one person, and no one else. So, once you’ve come to know a person and they look at you a certain way when they claim to love you, you judge the look of love bases on how that one person looks at you when they see you.

  18. Lori on December 1, 2008 at 2:47 pm

i love that everything in the song “ironic” is just not very ironic at all……or maybe im just cynical ha

  19. NataliaForgotten on December 1, 2008 at 1:58 pm

Mike, do you wanna fry our brains? I was kinda worried about you after all those bad comments about LPU8 (HAHAHA, WTF? GREAT CD!), but as I see, you are fine and doing mental logical effort, haha! Funny post. πŸ™‚

  20. AS_21 on December 1, 2008 at 1:46 pm

yeah! I like the thing! me too! I still love the song Human xD almost like that thing. go ABC! really analysing songs isn’t always such a good idea. It makes people sooo confused! but I still like the thing πŸ˜‰ love it! good logical thinking mike. that’s art! it doesn’t have to make ANY sense. ok, maybe it is improtant to make sense, but some songs are great without sense. And even without words πŸ™‚ that’s magic of music and melody.

  21. rockermeg on December 1, 2008 at 1:08 pm

Mike you’re so random sometimes-I think you just experienced a major mood swing haha
    The song is awesome…
I guess when you hear the line sung it just makes sense,it’s only when you write it out and start analysing it(miiiike)it gets people confused.
Best lyrics are the second verse of Jay-Z’s 99 Problems…I love love love that song so much!!!
And Hands Held High is amaazing too!!

  22. NeneLP88 on December 1, 2008 at 12:30 pm

Yeah man. I thought the same about the “then you’d judge the look by the lover”. I was like “something doesn’t work here O.o” =P Plus, i feel like having an inner mind now, having your own thoughts. ^^

And you could have a few segments of Lyrics In Print about songs like “26 Lettaz” or “Bubbles”. I love them, they’re funny as hell. πŸ™‚ Some lyrics should be explained though. XD

    hahaha =D

  23. jaybee on December 1, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Thats the best kind of song….Because just like things are in life not everything makes sense.

  24. KATHYxx on December 1, 2008 at 11:54 am

look what you did, now I can’t not analyse that.

Your version of Judging a book by its cover can be a reasonable inductive argument (specifically a generalization.. Unlike deductive reasoning where fallacies can be found by just looking at the structure of the argument, Inductive reasoning doesn’t have clear cut fallacies because they’re predicting the Probability of something.

Though, switching the parts around doesn’t make much sense. Generalization’s don’t really hold if you’re not applying it the same way consistently. Their version is wrong. Your version is sound though.

That shit is funny mike, you might have had a little to much time on your hands with that one. The thing that singers to that annoys me is sing “a gain” instead of again. In the dictionary you can technically pronounce it that way, but no one does. It just sounds like funny. I get that again doesn’t rythme as well as the latter. Keep the great posts coming!!!

  28. burningdaylight on December 1, 2008 at 10:43 am

mike – i’ve got to laugh about your lovely rendition of those lyrics from “ironic”…very, very funny…i’m guessing you know that song’s supposed to be all about ironic statements and such (hence rain on your wedding day – your wedding day’s supposed to be the happiest day of your life, but rain makes it totally suck!)…but if there was one lyrics in print i would totally want to see – it’s the macarena song. what the hell are they saying in it? either that one or….le cringe mmbop by hanson.

  29. rocksylvie on December 1, 2008 at 10:33 am

You still love it!!! This is more illogical! And you just impressed me with your logic! ;D

  30. Madlen on December 1, 2008 at 10:21 am

That’s so true:DI really love Green Day’s Jesus Of Superbia lyrics:”I’m the son of rage and love/The Jesus of Suburbia/From the bible of “none of the above”/On a steady diet of soda-pop and Ritalin” or “I read the graffiti /In the bathroom stall/Like the holy scriptures in a shopping mall/And so it seemed to confess/It didn’t say much/But it only confirmed that/The center of the Earth/Is the end of the world/And I could really care less”

I wanted to edit my yesterday’s comment and you’re just coming back to it… For some reason, that line stuck in my mind for a whole day. I thought, how about “If you judge the cover by the lover / Then you’d judge the book by the look”? HAHA, at least it sounds better. Or maybe “lover by the cover” if “the cover” could be “the exterior”. Hope you know what I mean… Pass my happy birthday wishes to Brad πŸ˜€ Hope you all are having a great day πŸ™‚

Have you seen a moon tonight? There’s Jupiter and Venus easy to see.

Haha…”it doen’t have to make sense” yeah… πŸ™‚ Anyway all LP songs make sense πŸ™‚ Especially some have a very deep meaning, like ”Hands Held High”, ”Numb” and ”No Roads Left”…I really love these songs πŸ˜€ And I bet that ”Kenji” and ”Where’d you go” mean a lot you πŸ˜‰ Really amazing songs πŸ™‚ Generally, I think that songs, either they make sense or not, mean something to people and that’s why they like them…For example, LP songs mean a lot to me, cause they help me deal with situations and think more cleary…they make me relax and forget about bad stuff πŸ™‚ Anyway that’s just my opinion πŸ˜‰ What do you think?

PS. Give BBB my best wishes for his b-day πŸ™‚

  33. LPmAgaS on December 1, 2008 at 9:54 am

Mike , you don’t have to think so hard about it. Although , it doesn’t make any sense , it doesn’t matter beacause we love it. Now if you want to change it , so it make sense , but it’s still tha same , or better , then you can change it.But , you change or not , we love it!!!!!
    Almost forgot:Happy birthday to BBB!!!!
    Take care!

  34. PankakeMunky on December 1, 2008 at 9:50 am

mike, i am honestly surprised you’re still wrapped up about the logic behind the ABC song. lol. i mean, sometimes things don’t have to make sense as long as you get the meaning behind the message that a singer/band is giving off. when you used the example of from the killers: “are we human, or are we dancer,” it got me thinking about how sometimes you just have to go with the flow and destroy english along the way to make a song sound really good just like when you said that “If you judge a book by the cover, then you’d judge the lover by the look” doesn’t sound good at all.

  35. alyeska39 on December 1, 2008 at 9:46 am

OK, Mike, I think you’re thinking too hard about it. But here’s my 2 cents anyway.
I’m trying to think of the line itself and what it might mean to “judge the look by the lover”. In knowing a person well enough to call them a lover, you come to know their looks. The same look on two different people could mean two different things. So knowing the lover, you might interpret (or judge) a look differently depending on who the look is coming from.
OK, now I’m thinking too hard about it, lol. Also, lol at “ray-yee-yain”.

  36. Kalini on December 1, 2008 at 9:15 am

“It doesn’t have to make sense! I forgot to mention: even though this song is ridiculous and illogical, I still love it”. You’re so right! It doesn’t have to be logic in order to love it. I feel this way when I listen to Natalie Imbruglia’s “Beauty on the fire”:
    “Here it comes again
    Cannot out run my desire
    Cover my decent
    And throw the
    Beauty on the fire
    Drawn towards the edge
Do I assume I could fly
    Every secret shared
    Why do I drink
    The feelings dry
    Don’t go too far
    Limitation scars”
There’s no connection between the lines. It’s like there’s a chaos in your mind, your thoughts are complicated and you can’t figure out your feelings. I love this kind of lyrics. Krassie

  37. SimplyMode on December 1, 2008 at 9:12 am

oooh, see that actually makes sense.

coincidence maybe, but i was just thinking about the killers- human and how illogical it really is but if you try and look beyond the words it actually makes sense.
Ironic on the other hand makes perfect sense and it’s actually got quite clever lyrical content (in my opinion) πŸ˜€

  38. Snails on December 1, 2008 at 9:09 am

I swear i got told its ‘or are we denser?’ makes more sense!

  39. Jen1983 on December 1, 2008 at 9:08 am

There seems to be an ongoing argument about that Alanis Morissette song; whether the situations mentioned in the song really are irony, or whether it’s just plain bad luck. Rain on your wedding day isn’t necessarily ironic; however I love the song regardless of whether it makes any sense. As for the Killers song, the line makes absolutely NO sense, but the song is musically superb in my opinion. And I think Night And Day has just been number one in the album charts here in the UK. So it proves that you don’t always have to have the perfect mix of killer lyrics and a great tune to make some kick-ass songs (ahemmmmcookiesahem)

  43. Lobby on December 1, 2008 at 8:08 am

Now, I was wondering too, about “are we human, or are we dancer?”.. And I was wondering so long, that at first I kind of knew what The Killers meant, but now, when I “worked” it out, it makes no sense! Absolutely… Amazing, how solving something actually takes you further away from the answer… Now, could anyone help me and tell me what the hell did they mean with it?

  44. keineAhnung on December 1, 2008 at 7:26 am

haha…don’t think you have to study logic to get what’s wrong with that line…but I guess you’re right about the artistic license ROFL…btw, you’ve GOT to take a look at this (RjDj is a music application for the Iphone. i didnt notice the switch until i re-read the switch! its making myself reading cross-eyed or something. xD

  48. motsy on December 1, 2008 at 5:58 am

maybe i shouldn’t read they lyrics in print posts anymore. i’m realizing so many of the songs i love are pretty stupid. i can enjoy the music much more if i dont keep thinking how the songs don’t make any sense.

  49. Aqua101 on December 1, 2008 at 5:42 am

Good boy! My Mikey now got the logic on his chosen lines…Ha-Ha-Ha :D, BTW…I got a short love poem (not sure if it has logic or not :o) that I made yesterday after I read yr post on “The Look Of Love” thing. I was kind of feeling moody & a bit boring, so I made this just for fun. Here it goes :
“You sent me a letter, but what I read was your voice.
You sent me a dream, but what I saw was your face.
You gave me a glass of water, but what I drank was your love.
With my shaken hands, I knock out your sufferings.
With my loud heart beats…..I proposed your true love.”

  50. Annie on December 1, 2008 at 5:26 am

  53. Alexandra1984 on December 1, 2008 at 4:48 am

I don’t know this song but my thoughts are these: If you don’t take these rhymes solely but as a consecutive perhaps what they want to say is that just like when you judge a book by the cover (superficially) when you are in a difficult situation (as it says the girl left, dreams fall apart etc) then you filtrate everything(you judge the look of things) through the prism of your pain (the lover) ,you can’t reach deeper, you can’t focus elsewhere (again you are having a superficial aspect of things).Mathematically anagoging this,I think it contents a series of irrational sentences to be a logic problem.Or we can call it poetic license and don’t trouble our mind more than it is necessary!!

  54. Gabry94LinkinParkfan23 on December 1, 2008 at 4:39 am

i like it coz it makes no sense xD really funny..:) byee Gabry have a nice day ^____^

  55. ThePrincess on December 1, 2008 at 4:36 am

Maybe you think this song is ridiculous and illogical..But for our best friends Princess .. this song contained many meanings for her .. you know what before she Departed to england for her illness recuperation she read your blog.. and she Thought this song was give her Attachment to Recover ( yes she was your big fans for last 8 years and for US that is ridiculous and illogical …)

  56. Charlotte_Jay on December 1, 2008 at 3:58 am

Hey Mike, I had the same problem! If you judge a book by the cover, then you’d judge the look by the lover. I thought it should be “If you judge a book by the cover, you’d judge the lover by the look” , maybe ANNE is right: If you don’t like guys wearing… skirts (hehe) but suddenly your new lover starts wearing skirts, then maybe you start to like men wearing skirts (and judge the look by the lover) or maybe….They just rhyme for rhyming’s sake huh?!

Love You Mike , Have a great day πŸ˜‰

  57. Anne on December 1, 2008 at 3:44 am

Correct me if I am wrong… but it is ironic when it rains on your wedding day. That’s my opinion ;o)
It is not ironic itself but the irony of life, I think. The “should be happiest day of your life” and then your pretty white dress (if you’re female :o) gets wet… πŸ˜‰ sh*t happens.
One thing: You don’t need to love what you like but you need to like what you love. In this case ABC’s lyrics sort of make sense?! If you don’t like guys wearing… skirts (hehe) but suddenly your new lover starts wearing skirts, then maybe you start to like men wearing skirts (and judge the look by the lover) …

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! you’re so fuckin funny, man!!!

  62. Frerard on December 1, 2008 at 3:23 am

hmm… okay, i get the logic wording playing on the ABC and also Killer’s. but the Alanis’ (i assume, that is where the line from), it is actually kinda make sense despite on how she sings it. wedding day is suppose to be the happiest day, sunshine, rainbows and unicorn. so it is kinda ironic when it’s raining, don’t you think?

  63. Metal_Value on December 1, 2008 at 3:18 am

“Are we human, or are we dancer” !! hahah! yeah right when I first heard those lyrics I was like “Urm, what” but you’re right lyrics don’t have to make sense really, I guess when people listen to them they make their own meaning for them, possibly situations they’ve gone through or are going through atm.
P.S; I heard, when I looked up to see if those lyrics “are we human” ones had any meaning at all, that it had something to do with a famous journalist called Hunter S. Thompson, who sadly committed suicide back in 2005 but there was a quote from him. According to Wiki, it was a disparaging comment made by him on how America was raising a generation of “dancers”.
    Interesting. Peace dude

Obviously, it didn’t let you fall asleep yesterday night…someone would say you’re wasting your time and energy on silly stuff, but solving any elementary problems could help you solve something more complexed in the future…or just entertain yourself when there’s nothing better to do…xD
Anyway – if your lyrics are always logical, it simply doesn’t apply to others necessarily…;)

  65. Dori on December 1, 2008 at 2:41 am

Hey, don’t knock Alanis Morrissete! That song is awesome! I’m just kidding, Mike. It’s nice to know that this kinda stuff keeps you awake at night, though! lol

  66. lucky_cat on December 1, 2008 at 2:30 am

Funny you mentioned The Killers! I heard “Human” few days ago and I thought, this is a case for the Lyrics In Print section: Are we human?/ Or are we dancer? /My sign is vital/ My hands are cold/ And I’m on my knees/ Looking for the answer/ Are we human?/ Or are we dancer? ….
But if lyric needed to be always logical, it would be very boring, don’t you think?

  67. Daga280 on December 1, 2008 at 2:18 am

haha yep, this illogical problem is hudge ;] but i think that author just wrote this because he need to end somehow this line about book and cover ^^ sometimes when I write lyrics and think i came up with some great idea but its too short for rhythm of all song i just add some line that dont have to make sense xD i think author did the same think here ;] and nobody asks me ‘why?’ because this is mine composition xDDD

26 Lettaz In Da Alphabet <<< haha thats great ‘song’ and i dont ask why? and where? ;] !!

have a nice day Mike ,say ‘hi’ to Marcell πŸ˜‰ take care

  68. MusicalMorphine on December 1, 2008 at 1:46 am

I shouldn’t have read that before I’ve had my coffee.

Btw Mike, I don’t know if it works for you but we can’t see comments past the first two pages. Next on page 2 takes you back to page 1.

  69. pd2care on December 1, 2008 at 12:39 am

I think you think too much, and that made my brain hurt. Of course, it’s after midnight, so my brain is off anyway. This one confused me more than the other, however. Hahahaha

  70. Raspberry on December 1, 2008 at 12:25 am

I grew up listening to 80’s music in England and bopping away to it at the school disco; it all made sense! You hit the nail on the head with your ‘getting your head around that line’ Have a cookie πŸ˜‰

  71. liope on November 30, 2008 at 11:53 pm

Oh yes!! Now it makes senses!! But don’t forget, when you write a song or a poem you have the right to break the rules (syntactic, grammatical and logical) in order to achieve a nice acoustic result!! πŸ™‚

  72. Hybr1d_7h3ory on November 30, 2008 at 11:42 pm

After looking at the link to the logic problem, and referring to my Critical Reasoning notes, you are absolutely correct saying that it should be, “judge the lover by the look”. But if all the songs we loved and enjoyed had to make sense then I would be stuck listening to Limp Bizkit rather then Linkin Park…HA! like that would ever happen.

Superb post Mike, I hope all is well on your end of things.

  73. Jaclyn on November 30, 2008 at 11:39 pm

lol that’s it! “If you judge a book by the cover, then you’d judge the lover by the look”. that’s what made my brain hurt/ I think you’re right, Mike. That’s the eternal argument between lyrics and melody. When the song is great for its lyrics, the melody usually is just a background, lalala on the guitar strings. Or cool dance songs have silly lyrics, but who cares if it’s meant to be for your feet, not for your head. So maybe it’s better to let illogical lines live than to kill a fine melody coz the sound of the voice matters too.

  74. kimCHEE on November 30, 2008 at 10:19 pm

lol! cool, you [kinda] figured that weird line out ! but it doesnt seem to make any sense to me though. -.- lol. anyway, sometimes things without any sense can be pretty nice too. like how i like to watch Tom And Jerry even though im 14 now. -.- lol. it makes no sense but i can spend hours watching the damned cat and mouse fighting each other over and over again. lol. but seriously! i still dont understand a single word in the lyrcis :/

  75. ZU13KA on November 30, 2008 at 9:56 pm

Good 2 know that this is what you been thinkin about…lmao πŸ˜› anywho, i jus got frat party at the pancake festival and dude i am speechless mostly coz i waz laughing my fool ass of haha u guys r crazy but awsome ciao

  76. WTF on November 30, 2008 at 9:55 pm

Yeah, doesn’t make much sense. Seems like ABC just had a thought in his head and couldn’t put it in words. Llike when you’re trying to say something but the words aren’t coming fast enough and you can’t spit it out.

To me it sounds like when ugly people say things like “It’s what’s on the inside that counts” or “Beauty is not skin deep”. Like a woman that glances at a book on a shelf and keeps walking by would do that to him. Give him a glance and keep on walking by not giving it a chance. Maybe he thinks he’s such a great “lover” in bed that it’s all that should matter. haha. Most people need that initial attraction before getting to that “lover” part. LOL My interpretation anyway.

I was hoping since I saw your little lesson on painting you (who i’ve looked up to lyrically for so many years) you can maybe do a blog on basic song structure and give hints tips lessons and how to make the message your trying to convey clear. I would be very great full man keep it up
My lyrics can be found on here in the blog section brilliantly titled lyrics.

  78. lynndarwinharris on November 30, 2008 at 9:40 pm

I took a course of Logic in College–believe or not I aced it, but this still makes no since–I just sum it up to the 80’s and I like it. Here’s a good one to try to figure out –Gorillaz – Clint Eastwood–makes absolutely no since at all! But I like it anyway! xD

  79. Hawaii_LP_fan on November 30, 2008 at 9:34 pm

Throw in the crazy music video & it becomes an illogical logic..haha. The music vid is a “carnival of craziness”. I must say the melody was dance worthy. I actually started groovin’ to it. Yes, even the prima ballerina had me wanting to put on those beautiful ballet shoes. Translation of the lyrics: love has no apparent rhyme or reason. Sometimes love just doesn’t have to make sense & be logical? Yah, right now I make NO sense. Regarding math, it’s greek to me! Not a left-brainer. Sorry can’t help you on the mathematical formula/logics. Where do you find these neato crazy music vids Mr. Mike? Keeping us musically educated, cultured, & to think outside the proverbial comfort box! :o)

  80. EpilepticChickenScratch on November 30, 2008 at 9:09 pm

lmfao, it’s not nice to make fun of other peoples’ lyrics when some of your own don’t make sense =P (coughBUBBLES-NOLAUNDRYcough). However, great with the logic of the line. I didn’t think I would understand that, but I guess I’m smarter than I thought. Perhaps I should listen to the song…??

  81. ritzifying on November 30, 2008 at 9:07 pm

wow. This is all you’ve thought about the past day?! lol

Nevermind the logic of it all, I’m going to listen to Jagged Little Pill ’cause I love it πŸ˜€

  82. Aiman on November 30, 2008 at 8:59 pm

wow lol i was thinking the same exact thing. i thought “well looks arent really judged by the lover… is that even possible” and that lovers are commonly judged by their looks. but ya, i guess if it sounds good then it doesnt have to make sense lol
