I Love Champagne: Chris Rock

December 18, 2008

i was listening to some old chris rock shit and had to pull this one out.

a few things to take notice of:

1- the ‘bluff daddy’ ad libs…they make the song even better

2- the kool rock ski verse…just because he brought him back from the fat boys

3- the tiger woods dance that the dancers do at the end. they have golf clubs and everything

I can’t believe I finally opened the comment section! I nearly forgot what I wanted to say. Well, I must say that Chris Rock is one of my favorite comedians. It was so much fun when he hosted the VMA’s, he must host them again. Although I don’t think it’s a rap song and I don’t like the lyrics, the song is funny and it can make you start loving champagne and jumping for joy. HAHA! I’m not a fan of golf, but the golf dance is great! Nice post from CB! Thanks! KK

lake erie. lol not too far from there.

I know you probably wont respond to this and this is a little off topic but I remember you saying in an interview i read a while back that you play halo. just wondering if you still do because I’m opening a gaming website here soon and im trying to make a list of celebrity gamers. i know apathy plays call of duty 4 like a fiend. lol

  17. ShadowerLiltani on December 18, 2008 at 5:12 pm

Sigh… The song was going good, until I heard that word, “nigga”, and lost pretty much all respect right there. That’s usually why I don’t listen to a lot of rap/hip hop. I love my boyfriend’s shirt, which shows the different versions of the N word crossed out and reads, “Don’t think it, don’t say it, don’t use it”. Rant over.

  18. redderz on December 18, 2008 at 5:08 pm

    Chester, is that you? 😉

Loving the dance at the end, there. I enjoyed Chris Rock in ‘Dogma’.

  19. shinoodle on December 18, 2008 at 3:41 pm

    Hey Mike.
just a suggestion have you ever thought about Linkin Park releasing a Holiday album. That would be so awesome. please take it in consideration.

  20. Dori on December 18, 2008 at 3:20 pm

Wow! That was really, really funny!

Hey Mike, I was listening to the radio about an hour ago and heard a remake of Genuine’s Pony…. Remember that song? I can’t remember the artist, but when I think of it, I’ll post you a link to it, so you can have a listen…

  21. Mr_Huhn on December 18, 2008 at 2:44 pm

  22. mike_n_LP_4ever on December 18, 2008 at 2:34 pm

  23. SimplyMode on December 18, 2008 at 2:18 pm

Aha! That’s some funny shizz! Now I feel like getting my Chris Rock ‘Never Scared’ DVD out (:

I find it pretty funny how this video pretty much summarizes the whole bad boy reign during the 90’s

those were the days, when puffy acted like he could rap && we believed him…such fools

thanks Charlie, I’m sending this one to all my friends…x

  24. analoggirl on December 18, 2008 at 1:08 pm

I personally love how it starts off in the middle of Lake Erie. LOL Loved the Missy Elliott and Lil Kim references too.

  25. HybridMeteora798 on December 18, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Hey Mike I have a really important question. I recently came across a new company called TrueAnthem, they give away artists music for free but pay the artist still. By using advertisements on the songs. Is this the wave of the future? My band is looking into that, because we just can’t seem to find a willing label. (www.myspace.com/allduerespectmusic) Mike, aren’t people are going to download songs for free no matter what, are labels just blind to the fact that times have changed? Many labels still press the ideas of CDs and such which sales are slumping on. Artists like Celldewalar also use TrueAnthem, it seems so smart and simple. I’d love your thoughts. I hope you respond.

  26. tinkerbella26 on December 18, 2008 at 12:28 pm

LMAO!! I remember this!! sighs Kinda takes me back to when Bad Boy kinda ruled the world ( my world for that matter)..I loved Lil Kim, Puffy, Mase, and can’t forget Biggie Smalls..I’m sure there’s a few more I’m forgetting but those were the main artist that I had to sneak around and listen to. But the video is hilarious.. Especially the Tiger Woods bit.. Wow, I may just have to update my iPod touch now…Have a good one..

  27. rockermeg on December 18, 2008 at 11:42 am

OK this song is one of the most random things I’ve ever heard…but it’s also really damn good!!!
She has a great voice but she’s original unlike most female singers out there (except for Hayley Williams)
Chris rock is absolutely brilliant!! Have you seen his stand-up?? It’s hilarious!
    Nice one CB,

  28. cuz on December 18, 2008 at 11:42 am

Haha, cool! The rap verses at the end are hilarious! Plus, cuz never drunk champagne. Nor any other kind of alcohol. Have a nice day 🙂

  29. Madlen on December 18, 2008 at 11:39 am

  30. pepper on December 18, 2008 at 11:27 am

Anyone else see that MONSTER sandwhich she was eating?!?!?! That was a huge Samich.

  31. Raspberry on December 18, 2008 at 11:16 am

That was cool, i also liked the nod to Missey Elliots black binbag suit, haha and the opening of the video reminded me of Honey by Mariah Carey with the speedboat and helicopters. Mo’ money mo’ problems montage tickled me!

  32. miKer0cks on December 18, 2008 at 11:03 am
