Asher Roth vs. Airline Bomber

January 10, 2009

Remember Asher Roth, who I mentioned a few months back says:

According to his publicist, none other than Asher Roth was involved in detaining the man who just made a bomb threat on an Atlanta-to-LAX flight. The rapper was on his way to LA for a performance on Carson Daly. The LA Times reports:

“The unidentified man was aboard Delta Airlines Flight 110, which was approaching Los Angeles, when he got up and stated he had a bomb, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

“There was an altercation with multiple passengers, who ultimately subdued the man with plastic ties. At one point he tried to exit through one of the aircraft doors after the flight landed at LAX.”

Hey Mike, I talked to Asher on myspace a while ago. I told him that he was a dope rapper and that you gave him a shoutout a while ago. And he wrote back! He said that he was thankful that a great musician gave him a shoutout and that he would like to talk to you in person.

  3. analoggirl on January 12, 2009 at 6:09 pm

That’s crazy! His heroism puts all those gangsta rappers to shame.

hey mike! I recommend. you’re careful to get air! if the view is bad! less evil that is done well. With the bass .. great! is a risky your job. We should appreciate you more. For the concerts, the plane … meet and greet … you always risk cabbage … do not worry about me! 😉

i read that a few days ago, only im 100% sure it said he (asher) wasnt involved, wasnt even on the same plane. it was the guitarist of his band thats the hero. then again, maybe that articel i read was wrong… guess i’ll be looking into that.
EDIT, here it is. i wasnt hallucinating then.

  17. Dori on January 11, 2009 at 11:32 pm

I read the same thing as HJP007, but in the Los Angeles Times O.o… I knew Asher Roth’s name looked familiar… I just couldn’t place it at the time…. Yeah, it was kinda freaky. I mean, all these terrorist threats turn out to be pretty much nonsense these days, but who knows… It’ll be interesting to find out more about this guy if and when, the authorities release more information….

That is scary, if I was younger it’d probably scare me from taking planes. But Final Destination took that place, I saw it and when the plane blew up I got scared and didn’t want to fly on planes, ever. I did eventually, though. What was scary, I was like 6, was that my cousins foot started bleeding right after we saw the movie. :s

Oh and why does it say…January 10, 2008? checks clock it’s the 11th….are you in stuck in the past!?

HAHA, jk. posted before but took it off and now posting it permanently? lol.

  20. Saphira on January 11, 2009 at 6:30 pm

whoa thats scary i would silently freak if this dude suddenly said oh im gonna blow this plane in pieces – shudder – yup that was really brave standin up to that idiot bomber y do why do some humans have wicked thoughts…..

  21. ShadowerLiltani on January 11, 2009 at 6:23 pm

I heard about this, but didn’t really read very far into it. Interesting though. Brave dude. I’m curious if the guy actually had a bomb, or if he was just trying to scare people. Hard to tell these days.

  22. dulcemdl on January 11, 2009 at 6:15 pm

  23. ThePrincess on January 11, 2009 at 5:52 pm

  24. lynndarwinharris on January 11, 2009 at 5:28 pm

That takes guts! Thank you to Asher Roth and the other passengers for standing up to this man!

  25. HJP007 on January 11, 2009 at 4:58 pm

MTV news says it was his guitarist, Chris Llewellyn, who “subdued the would-be bomber”
