Lyrics In Print: The Warrior!

January 14, 2009

You run, run…run away

It’s your heart…that you betray

Feeding on…your hungry eyes

I bet you’re not so civilized

Well, isn’t love..primitive

A wild gift…that you wanna give

Break out of captivity

And follow me, stereo jungle child

Love is the kill…..your heart’s still wild

Chorus:

Shootin’ at the walls of heartache, bang, bang, I am the warrior

Well I am the warrior, and heart to heart you’ll win..if you survive

the warrior….the warrior

You talk, talk, you talk to me

Your eyes touch me physically

Stay with me, we’ll take the night

As passion

takes another bite

Who’s the hunter…who’s the game?

I feel the beat…call your name

I hold you close…in victory

Idon’t wanna tame your animal style..

you won’t be caged…in the call of the wild….

My favorite part? Probably too many to name. “And follow me, stereo jungle child / Love is the kill…..your heart’s still wild”

I don’t know what a stereo jungle child is, but I bet it’s pretty kickass.

i liked these the best. all thought to me, i think of these lrycs and think of Guns N’ Roses, lol. These lrycs seem something that GNR would have written. However, looks like someone beat them to it.

i have to say this is such a great song and a classic and i never actually paid attention to the lyrics. i love how when you’re listening to a song and you sing along to it absent mindedly, you don’t realize how funny the lyrics are especially when i realize that scandal almost made the verses rhyme just for the sake of it

  12. dora on January 15, 2009 at 5:12 am

    Who’s the hunter…..Who’s the game?Perfect…….!loved it:)

  13. Hawaii_LP_fan on January 14, 2009 at 11:53 pm

Wow, sounds to me like l-o-v-e is pretty wild. Worthy to pursue, be tamed, and yet…… “Your eyes touch me physically”.

I used to listen to this song all the time growing up. I love it!! I have memorized every word. An 80’s classic!! I have the cassette (yep) and I purchased it on CD when it became available. I love it now just as much as I loved it then! Take Care!

  16. ThePrincess on January 14, 2009 at 6:16 pm

Seen from the lyrics its many beautiful words, but honestly I was a little vague with the meaning of this song, did this song tell about TARZAN WHO WAS FALLING IN LOVE ? Hahaha just kidding .. but I think you right some of the lyrics that kick my ass too.

Deconstructing Biggie in honor of your Lyrics In Print segment and the upcoming release of Notorious.

    LYRICS:

And my jam knock in the Mitsubishi

Girls pee pee when they see me, Nava-hoes creep me in they tee pee

As I lay down laws like I lay carpet

Stop it – if you think your gonna make a profit

TRANSLATION: I enjoy playing my music loudly on my car stereo. Apparently, women enjoy this also because they become sexually aroused when they see me driving. Oddly enough, when I visit the Native American reservations, some of the more sexually promiscuous Indian women attempt to seduce me in their homes. Their intent is to divest me of my earnings. Such actions are unacceptable.

LOL … I’m really glad you don’t know what a stereo jungle child is, so I can spare myself the translation. “Your eyes touch me physically” I try to picture this …lol … could be a part of a splatter movie %) After reading it twice I must admit I feel queasy …

    thanks for sharing, Mike.

  22. FCastro on January 14, 2009 at 2:14 pm

    hey that this lyrics mean??

    I swear I didn’t understand anything

  23. Curiosa on January 14, 2009 at 2:10 pm

Ha! I have to agree w/you on this song. Sooo…what do you think the lyrics mean? :)

Mike, will you be watching tonight’s Laker game? I know we’re excited about it cause it’s sold out. I’m curious as to how the Spurs stack up against the Lakers & Celtics this season but mostly the Lakers. I would bet w/you but I don’t have much confidence in my team this season although they are improviing with each game. As I mentioned to Ryu last season, if the Spurs were going to win another championship that season would have needed to be the one to win because this season & probably next season there’s going to be a lot of trading. May the best team win. :)

  24. Noda89 on January 14, 2009 at 1:55 pm

I honestly feel like watching the Lion King now. I dunno why, but these lyrics just got me thinking about Simba….

    What?

  26. Sintia on January 14, 2009 at 1:51 pm

WOW….I haven’t heard that song in a while. That’s one of the good 80’s songs. I really love Pat Benatar “heartbreaker”. That song rocks too! Wait…my bad. That song was in ’79. aaaa…close enough. :-)
Thanks for posting the lyrics to that song. Now I can (attempt) sing The Warrior correctly than just assuming I was singing along with it right. lol Take Care and hope everything is all well with you and LP.

“And follow me, stereo jungle child / Love is the kill…..your heart’s still wild” is great! But I love those too: “Your eyes touch me physically” “Idon’t wanna tame your animal style.. / you won’t be caged…in the call of the wild….” xD So stupid.. Ups.. Funny.. xD ahah

  29. Leany on January 14, 2009 at 1:36 pm

    wow. really strong lyrics.
I was wondering what a stereo jungle kid is, and I just realize that maybe it’s young Tarzan with headphones jumping around on liana, and then I just realized again I should go to sleep…

    great stuff mike!

YOU HAVE TO check this one out!

  33. Kalini on January 14, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Yeah, too many to name. “Break out of captivity/ And follow me, stereo jungle child”; “I hold you close…in victory/ Idon’t wanna tame your animal style../ you won’t be caged…in the call of the wild….” I’m trying to see if it’s possible: “I hold you close…in victory/ you won’t be caged?!?!?! To Burningdaylight: Yeah, the 80’s songs have at first listen funny lyrics, but when you think about the lyrics you see that they have a deeper meaning, having in mind that “Rock The Casbah” is a kind of a political song, just like many of the songs of The Clash. Wow, “Rock the cat box”!!! That’s funny! KK

  34. EpilepticChickenScratch on January 14, 2009 at 12:22 pm

What I want to know is: How exactly do one’s “eyes touch me physically”? Do you pop the ball itself out, rub it against the arm of said “me” and then pop the ball back in? In this case, I feel very badly for the eye. Who knows where the arm of “me” has been?? Talk about pink eye. Nomnom.

  35. skindesbous on January 14, 2009 at 12:13 pm

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA =D!

  36. Ash75 on January 14, 2009 at 12:03 pm

You know, the lyrics are interesting, but I’m not listening to this type of ,music… Anyway, have you seen this one? :

    These people just are AWESOME!!!
    Take care :)

  37. rockermeg on January 14, 2009 at 11:36 am

I like the lyrics but I don’t like the music; you know, the guitar…the drums…her voice. Is it meant to sound like Blondie??? (shakes head) Hayley Williams is 100 x better,,sorry
I found the video for you,I think they’re meant to be vampires (it’s that 80’s vampire style) but maybe that’s just because I’ve been rererereading the Twilight series :) (OH MY GOD- ‘Midnight Sun’ sooo awesome!! It’s from Edward’s point of view!xD fans check it ooouut!)

I’m not into 80’s music. Long live the 90’s!!! Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the forming of Linkin Park! Rejoice people!!Haha

  40. AndreaIG on January 14, 2009 at 11:06 am

Ahhhh… the ’80s. Are you familiar with Saraya’s “Timeless Love”? It’s just as melodramatic, but a very catchy song! (From Wes Craven’s “Shocker” film.) Then of course there’s Quarterflash, The Motels, Berlin’s “Pleasure Victim”. Tee hee.

  41. Anika on January 14, 2009 at 10:59 am

    hey, thx for posting…

  42. Lynnie on January 14, 2009 at 10:26 am

‘Well I am the warrior, and heart to heart you’ll win..if you survive’ – wtf?
‘Shootin’ at the walls of heartache, bang, bang, I am the warrior’ – Since when do warriors shoot guns? Not very warrior-esque is it?
‘Who’s the hunter…who’s the game?’ – isn’t he the hunter if he’s the ‘warrior’?
Who actually writes this crap? Lol.
    ~
‘It’s been a minute since I posted a “Lyrics In Print” entry…’ – either ‘it’s been a minute’ is some American lingo that I don’t get, or you posted something a minute ago then changed it, or you’re just trying to confuse me.
Of course, if it’s the latter – you win! =)
    ~
    Have a good day.

  43. I_B_Long on January 14, 2009 at 10:24 am

considering the fact that you have a song thats about…writing a song…. maybe you shouldnt be the one pointing fingers ;)

  44. burningdaylight on January 14, 2009 at 10:22 am

that is why 80’s songs are so funny….half the time the lyrics don’t make much sense, yet they’re so catchy…ex: rock the casbah. there was a “lyrics in print”-esque commercial a few years ago with that song that had the guy that says “rock the cat box?” instead of “rock the casbah”. maybe the guy thought they were singing about kitty litter?

  45. Naaik on January 14, 2009 at 10:17 am

Btw…Any news about your artshow? o.O and can I get your opinion on something? Me and my friends are doing a project at school-we are drawing the setting of the school play- :) We have to draw a castle, a senetary, a church and a bar in a 2 metres high and 5 metres long piece of paper but we don’t know what type of paint to use…Any ideas/tips? Should we use acryllics or wall paint? Your advice would be very helpfull to us :)
