Sketch Theatre: Greg Simkins

Check out how the pros do it. This link is specifically for Greg “Craola” Simkins, but Sketch Theatre features several artists sketching while set to music. For the people that aren’t artistically inclined, it’s kind of interesting to watch how it all comes together.

That was amasing!! Simkins is my favorite artist!! If i would work the way hi does i would lose it for sure!! I mean when i was having drawing lessons our teacher told us that we make first the rough skecth and the we start doing the dark tones working from the inside to outside and alwasy working it all together. Simkins seams to have the whole skecth in his mind!! that’s why its so amazing!!🙂

That’s great Mike! The whole proccess is really interesting! For sure this guy is talented. I also like the video’s song. I’ve never heard about that band before.

By the way, maybe you could do the same thing with one of your paitings? I’m sure the fans of your art (like me) would love that!

Take care Mike, have a great weekend!

Mike , I asked this before, you should do the same type of video with one of your paintings, it will be very interesting for us (people who paint too) to see your process, i think the video you posted is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

    I’ll raise your Simkins with a Steven Asael.😉 http://www.stevenasael.com

But then again, I’ve always been partial to realism..

That was fascinating. Being artisitically inclined myself, i compared my, er sketching process to Greg’s… I jump all over the place too. I hope that i will be able to shade as well as he can someday; I’ve found that im improving with shading the more i practice. I just have a problem with contrast between black and white–I can never shade an object dark enough to make it really pop!

I can’t help myself but this one comment on the page: “Wow Greg I Always Wondered How U do it and now that I seen I Still Dont Know” really crack me up, lol. It seems to counteract the idea of the site, but it’s likewise true and hilarious …
Nevertheless it’s a cool idea for a website, to present artists this way. I’m wondering if this could work with musicians ?! .)

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’ve always been interested in art (even though I don’t have the talent) and it is always interesting to see how it all comes together. It’s exciting to watch the process behind the finished product.

That’s actually a great learning tool, for anyone who needs to know how to start off a drawing/sketch. What a cool idea.
