well it was difficult for me to choose just one but I chose most of them newayz. I guess for me personally I am a shuffle for music. I have so many different types of radio stations in my car you may never know what youll get till you push that button!! “Every individual has a place to fill in the world and is important in some respect whether they choose to be so or not”- Nathaniel Hawthorne—-I know that was random but just wanted to share. I hope you, LP & your families are doing good and healthy. : )

Well, but don’t send me to the death because it’s all from what you’re doing, ok?

    I’m bored, real bored.

  3. Kalini on May 27, 2009 at 12:14 pm

I don’t like listening to radio, but anyway if any of those playlists was on the radio, I wouldn’t listen to it at all. I don’t like many of those artists. Does anyone listen to the Beatles? I like only 2 of John Lennon’s songs – Immagine and Jealous Guy. What about Queen, Aerosmith, The Police, The Clash, Metallica, Depeche Mode, INXS, Duran Duran, A-HA, REM, Pulp, Blur, Garbage, Green Day, The Rasmus, 30 Seconds To Mars, Kings Of Leon, Tokio Hotel…….. Well, you’ve already mentioned Evanescence, Coldplay, U2, Beastie Boys. They are great. KK

  4. Full_Metal_Ninja on May 27, 2009 at 9:36 am

I pretty much like all the bands on there. So I vote for all of the above.

  5. liope on May 27, 2009 at 9:32 am

  6. cuz on May 27, 2009 at 5:47 am

Done Mike! There was a bunch of great bands, hard to choose just few.

  7. Lvix on May 27, 2009 at 5:26 am

Difficult chose Mike because i don’t like any of them…
Only Evanescence and Metric are awesome..

The Beatles.. you know i know the beatles are good and they make good music but it is not my taste.

If a Radio Station only will play music that I like it would only play(The bands above are the most important):

    Linkin Park of course,
    Julien-K,
    Johnny Berlin (www.myspace.com/johnnyberlinmusic),
    Green Eyed Stare (www.myspace.com/greeneyestare),
    Evanescence,
    Within Temptation,
    Nightwish,
    Metric (www.myspace.com/metric).

Next artists to, only they are no bands…:

    Esmee Denters (www.myspace.com/esmeedenters),
    Justin Timberlake,
    Flo Rida,
    And EMINEM.

You have an interesting way of grouping music. Our local radio stations aren’t so diverse; we have alternative, rock, urban and indie stations. I doubt I’d find the Beatles on the same station as the Beasties.

I chose all options with the exception of #4. Some of the artists in #6 are a bit too hipster for me, like Crystal Castles, but I love Metric and Santigold. I listen to basically every one of those artists, depending on my mood. In fact, I’ve already seen (or will see) these artists live: Kanye West, MGMT, Asher Roth, Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, Public Enemy, Coldplay, U2, Bloc Party.

  13. Joanna_Fan_From_BR on May 26, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Oh, For sure The Beatles (1965-1968) / Radiohead / Beastie Boys (1984-1992) / Led Zeppelin / Pearl Jam = All pretty good… And I can add AC/DC, Aerosmith, Motรถrhead, Metallica…
and Nine Inch Nails/Rage Against The Machine/Public Enemy (1987-1991)/Fugazi.

And that CSS? Is the CSS from my Brazil?

  14. LAX on May 26, 2009 at 4:50 pm

Mike, you and I both know that the category that is winning right now is whack.

  15. noahk on May 26, 2009 at 4:19 pm

All I know is the main radio station I listened to in Sacramento (kwod.net), just shut down. Now where I am going to hear LP (as much)?

  16. NoMoreSorrowGirl on May 26, 2009 at 4:02 pm

Done!I choose in line of Disturbed…I love Disturbed!

I love our local radio station here coz they have this program called remote control weekend were all they play was from all those who texted them…only weekends…but the best part is when Dec. comes…It was like the whole month of Dec. you can text and text and text, and they play, and play, and play!…hehehe! The best part is that day is Dec. 25 and I request to play My December and poof they play immediately!…hehehe!best xmas ever!

So, you’re planning to become a DJ!?…what “alias” would you prefer to call yourself?…any idea?

    PS: Curiosity killed the cat.

    LOL

  17. bojkic on May 26, 2009 at 3:47 pm

Heheheh… as a kid I dreamt of owning a radio station.
I have choosen option 1: Justice / Kanye West / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / MGMT / Asher Rot – not sure about Kanye and Asher, but loving MGMT and JUSTICE! Can I add Royksopp, Ladytron etc. here?

AND option 5: Coldplay / Vampire Weekend / U2 / Death Cab For Cutie / Bloc Party – love Bloc Party, others are good too. Can I add Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Mando Diao in here?๐Ÿ˜€

AND option 6: Metric / CSS / Santogold / Crystal Castles / M83 / P.O.S. … CSS are qll๐Ÿ˜€ love some of the others too.

I love many bands from the other options, but I guess this is what I currently listen to the most.

Ah ! There goes a slow moment of mine…I wuz like, “Which one should I pick ??? This is so hard !” Cuz I like the one with (I like only those 3 artists’) Kanye West, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Asher Roth(<33), also the one with (Only those 2)NIN, and Public Enemy, and the one I pickd wuz with The Beatles, Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Led Zeppelin, and Pearl Jam, mainly cuz I love all of the bands/groups in that category . Then when I pickd that one as my choice, I realized that I cud pick more that one ! I need to stop doing that…๐Ÿ˜›

    -Cati

    PS – Now I got a murder rap !๐Ÿ˜›

  19. lp_fm_fan on May 26, 2009 at 2:58 pm

ahh LPMB…don’t really want to sign in….. but this is my answer: Hollywood Undead / Korn / Evanescence / Disturbed / Saliva / Breaking Benjamin without Hollywood Undead. ooorr I do like this one too: Justice / Kanye West / Yeah Yeah Yeahs / MGMT / Asher Roth and this one too: Coldplay / Vampire Weekend / U2 / Death Cab For Cutie / Bloc Party.

EDIT:OH, ALSO…have you ever heard of “Pandora” radio? It’s an app for the iPhone and the iPT, I guess. Anyway you can search certain radio stations based on the artist, song, or composer. It’s so amazing it gives you recommendations of music you may have never heard before, you can add new stations and mix stations. I have a LP station!

  20. Melissa on May 26, 2009 at 2:50 pm

I got stuck between Coldplay / Vampire Weekend / U2 / Death Cab For Cutie / Bloc Party… & …The Beatles (1965-1968) / Radiohead / Beastie Boys (1984-1992) / Led Zeppelin / Pearl Jam. Probably the oldies overall. It depends on where I was listening to the radio. I’d probably have a station with Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Ray LaMontagne, Imogen Heap, The Cranberries, Tracy Chapman, Billie Holiday, Luis Armstrong… I’d call it ‘Distinctive vocalists and pretty lyrics FM’, haha.

  21. Madlen on May 26, 2009 at 2:17 pm

Just voted… Hollywood Undead / Korn / Evanescence / Disturbed / Saliva / Breaking Benjamin but the choice was pretty tuff…

  22. Carla on May 26, 2009 at 2:01 pm

Since I don’t want to make a fool of myself on the message board, I’ll say it here lol. (I think I will regardless…) So I honestly picked all of the choices because there were at least 2-3 artists or bands in each of them I’d love to put together on my radio station, personally. Needs variety, that’s why!

  23. Maaark on May 26, 2009 at 1:59 pm

That’s an interesting poll. You said we could vote for more than one option, so I did it. I voted for “Hollywood Undead / Korn / Evanescence / Disturbed / Saliva / Breaking Benjamin” and “Coldplay / Vampire Weekend / U2 / Death Cab For Cutie / Bloc Party”, though I’m not a big U2 fan. All those bands are pretty good, especially Vampire Weekend, Coldplay, Disturbed and Breaking Benjamin.

By the way, what would YOU want on your own radio station?!

    Take care man, you rock.

  24. JohnLP89 on May 26, 2009 at 1:46 pm

    Mike,

I chose the option with Korn, Evanescence, etc. I did not choose this because I thought they were the best artists, I choose them because I felt that in a melodic way I could see myself doing other things with them in the background. Every artist, however, has talent of great measure.

In this situation, it doesnt come down to my favorites, it comes down to what I could listen to on radio airplay consitently, daily. Just as an extended example, I cannot listen to linkin park 24/7 because I want different feels as well. However, those in option 3 seem to be the most diverse (within the same spectrum) for radio airplay.

  25. MS_Ineedyou on May 26, 2009 at 12:59 pm

Evanescence, Korn, and Disturbed FTW !! haha… nice poll Mike !! —Brooke .

  26. Eddie on May 26, 2009 at 12:54 pm

I would like to hear Rage Against The Machine, Evanescence, Led Zeppelin, Saliva, Nine Inch Nails. So I voted 2,3 and 4. I’m “Guerrero” in LPN – LPU! Great poll Mike!!! It’s fun and really cool to have votes like that! See ya bro!!!

  27. gaby_ on May 26, 2009 at 12:18 pm

    ๐Ÿ˜€ cool ๐Ÿ˜€

  28. rockermeg on May 26, 2009 at 11:51 am

Asher Roth is the only decent one on that first option in my opinion.
Other than that, The Beatles; Beastie Boys; Pearl Jam;Rage Against the Machine; Public Enemy; Fugazi; Hollywood Undead; Korn; Vampire Weekend; P.O.S
Good poll.๐Ÿ™‚ I’d love to do my own radio show… I might be doing my work experience (like an internship) at a radio station๐Ÿ˜€ gonna be fun!!!
