Get Busy: a Koala with a USB Uzi

September 27, 2009

GBC UPDATE: The album is almost done, and will be ready for release in the next couple months. As you guys know, there are a lot of ways to go about putting out your music…so although they’ve gotten interest from labels, GBC has decided to go independent (a decision I am in 1000% support of). Make sure to jump over to http://getbusycommittee.com/ and sign up on the email list, so you can be the first to get new music and news from the guys.

The biggest news by far is the release of this image…the guys apparently plan on releasing a version of the album that comes with a stuffed Koala and USB Uzi. LOL: http://twitter.com/getbusycommittE/status/4405591352 Feel free to pass the info on, put it on your blog, retweet, etc.

CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT USB UZI! Best marketing idea I’ve seen so far! 😉

@MrJQ23: You can ask Ryu on twitter. He’s really good at replying to people: http://twitter.com/TherealRyu I know he has a myspace account but he doesn’t check it very often & I’m not sure if he’s on facebook. From what I’ve read, I don’t think SOB is together any more.

Hey Mike, if Ryu is part of The GBC and Takbir has Ribkat now, does this mean no more “Reseda Beach” from Styles of Beyond? If anyone knows anything of the status of Styles of Beyond, please elaborate.

I don’t understand why GBC decided to choose an indie label than major labels which certainly sounds more prestigious ? whether it was because they think over the advantages and disadvantages are obtained remembering the hard and unfair competition in the music industry or only to anticipate undesirable thing ( read : detractor virus loser ) , which can impair quality of their work ? .. yeah , I think I should sign up first to find out the answer !! Thanks for the info dude !!

Note : (a decision I am in 1000% support of) !! .. that what i call cool and smart and wise !!

    Hey mike!

I just wanted to tell ya that I like the GLXS book. I mean there is a lot of interesting things and stories from you. I love the pictures and the quality of the book.
I hope all the money I spent (80 dollars!) go to charity or your scholarship program. However I’m looking forward to the next record and art. Please do an amazing art concept for the next album cover..I love the salton sea picture, but I prefered your (and Joes) personal touch on the covers.

Stuffed Koala with an Uzi? LOL

Anyway, sorry to bring this up in a humor thread but but I want to second a comment below regarding the typhoon in the Philippines. Maybe you can get Music for Relief to help if possible? A monsoon month’s rainfall occurred in six hours in the Philippines. According to CNN, almost 80 percent of the capital is under water. Death tolls is still rising. Hopefully Music For Relief has some resources to help. http://www.redcross.org.ph/

EDIT : The UZI looks fun but I intend to give more attention to http://dynamicteencompany.org/ or http://www.redcross.org.ph/ , Thanks for the link guys !!

Love the Uzi USB – I be flossin’ with a flash drive. LOL But what’s the deal with the koala? And what’s the connection between GBC and True Love and False Idols?

  19. xtanislava on September 27, 2009 at 6:23 pm

Hey, you think you can call for help in behalf of the Filipinos? We were hit by typhoon Ondoy and effects are worse than Katrina. Many areas in our country need help. Many houses are completely submerged in flood and death count is continuously rising. they can give any form of donation to http://dynamicteencompany.org/ or http://www.redcross.org.ph/.

Dopeage. I can see a Uzi Koala chillin with me.
EDIT: Grrrrrrrrrr So, promote yourself comment ratio was? and when its something where you can show how smart and cool you are the ratio is astronomical? But the important stuff gets hardly shit? I really need to stop caring. I’m putting in my app to become a drone. Btw Mike, I finally found a background image I liked for my Twitter and it was cool for about 5 minutes until I clicked your page Yea…You Win.

Hello 🙂 I think nowadays, going independent, regardless of what art medium you are in (art, music, books, etc), in the best bet. You can go at your pace, and don’t have anyone entwining themselves in your hard work. I have to ask though, what is going to happen to Machine Shop? That label provided a lot of hope, mainly because it’s Mike Shinoda saying “hey, listen to these guys/girls!”, and because it was a label that had integrity. MS literally went on hiatus right after I recommended it to my step-brother…
