NORM ONE at Canvas LA

October 9, 2009

Recently got to know NORM, a tattoo / graffiti / gallery artist who has a show coming up tomorrow at Canvas LA…Good dude, and good work. I did a painting with him, which will be at the show. If you’re in the area, it’s a must-see. Here are some images at his studio that I took with my phone:

NORM / ANGELS WILL RISE / 8pm to midnight
441 North Fairfax Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90036

More info about the show:

well, MIke, if you like draws like those, maybe you’d like she draws beautiful romantic-gothic things.

  3. BennOda on January 21, 2010 at 7:51 pm

Hi Mike!!!you are so cool paint! you are very talented and cool! “I have never seen such a talented person like you!

  4. Lelen on November 2, 2009 at 4:56 pm

Hi Mike. Helen here from NYC…. This is the first time I write even though, of course, I’ve been a fan of your art and the band for ages. If you get the chance, check out this link from the Ukraine. Believe it or not Ukraine has “Ukraine Got Talent.” One of the contestants, Kseniya Simonova, told a sad story about Ukraine’s old history of war and bloodshed with sand! This way of storytelling and art moved everyone in the audience to tears. It’s 8 minutes long but it is worth watching this talented girl. Hope you like it! -Hel

Hi there Mike. I’ve never seen such gorgeous paintings and graffitti). They’re really impressive and massive. Hope that this is a new step forward in your art, a new word in art. I believe in it!!. Thank you.

Great pictures. By the way, I’ve been asking myself for months why do this galleries only exist in the USA. I will travel to America and I’ll stay there for one month, promised -.-‘. OMG, the Petrified remix that is 3 comments below its amazing lol

  7. highlandpark on October 15, 2009 at 1:33 am

Dammit, I went today & the place was closed! Looks like whenever it rains in Los Angeles, it puts a halt on everything. I will trying calling before hand. By the way, I can’t believe this U.S. economy has destroyed Melrose Avenue, I counted more than 20 shops, went out of business. It is tragic, tourist visiting Melrose will probably stop visiting, there’s nothing to see. I hope Joe Hahn’s Suru Store survives!!!

  8. adrianklein on October 13, 2009 at 6:01 am

    Fort Minor “Petrified” 2009 remix

    thank you!

Hey Mike, just did an interview with Ryu for LPLive. Check it out (, you might like it. He mentioned the first track he ever wrote with you, haha. Also, I’m doing a huge piece on MFR in the next few weeks (did an interview with Whitney about a lot of MFR stuff, etc) that should be pretty informative on the whole aspect of the organization. I’ll link that up when we post it. Peace! -Mark

I was there! Good Pic. i didn’t know you were going to have a peice there, and as I was browsing I saw one of the marlyn peices and i LOVE her so naturally i was attracted to those peices. I looked at the name and saw your name!! The whole show was great, and so was your peice (I was a day late to Glorious excess (dies) I just moved to LA and I thought the last day was the 6th not the 4th…. i went the 5th… Next time for sure)

Anyways after I saw your name I decided to come here to see if you made mention, and you did. so yeah. Congrats on the awesome work again!
    Take care!

  17. soyuneik on October 10, 2009 at 9:20 pm

The work is lovely. He use that the spackle spray paint for the last? or manual? I’ve been meaning to try some of those.

  18. ShadowerLiltani on October 10, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Is that you in the third photo? If it is, you look very short for some reason, and like you have tattoos. Anyways, this guy’s art is very neat looking. I don’t understand the concept, if there is any, but it’s still neat looking. By the way, thanks for dedicating a painting to me, but either you or Norm spelled my name wrong. It’s A-L-E-X, not A-L-O-X, lol. (Refer to the graffiti in the third photo).

  19. cuz on October 10, 2009 at 2:37 pm

  39. YourConscience on October 9, 2009 at 9:36 pm

Damn. That first one is amazing. It’s hard to tell from here, but I assume he used pen, marker, maybe a little paint/airbrushing? Whatever he did, it works. I absolutely adore that piece.

P.S. I checked out GLXS Dies closing day with hubby and our son – great job. I wish I could’ve taken “Memento Immortalis” home with me. But I also felt that way with “Study” during GLXS Born… All in all, amazing work. I really want to start painting again when I find the time.

  40. LPmadman on October 9, 2009 at 9:20 pm

  42. boyzdontcry on October 9, 2009 at 7:42 pm

I like the pic No. 3, although I don’t know if it graffiti or a Mural or both but looks very cool, and if we are to consider carefully, its like he put the wrong letters there, MSK .. it isn’t supposed to MKS ? lol !! …ok whetever is that , Good Job Norm !!

NOTE : Nice Touch , London hehehe !!

  43. jeffryLP on October 9, 2009 at 7:40 pm

    Nice Pic Mike !!

NOTE : HAHAHA … Big applause for London .. Bravo dude !!

  44. luckyluck on October 9, 2009 at 7:37 pm

    Totally Awesome !!

A Note to Miss Princess : in our opinion something that isn’t hairy is beautiful and unique, although a bit difficult to understand but still.. for us , woman is a Miracle , so it seems you are wrong if you say that women always be the object , we prefer to call it a REWARD or a good appreciation for the women 😉 ..

  45. ThePrincess on October 9, 2009 at 7:33 pm

The paintings looks very good but I don’t understand to you Guys , why always women who should be the object ?? well , I’m sorry but I think that’s not fair !! .. thank’s for the info anyway 🙂 …

  46. lp_fm_fan on October 9, 2009 at 6:39 pm
