LP interviews always make me feel good for some reason 🙂 maybe cause it’s nice to get those update-snippets. or maybe it’s just me and my love for GOOD interviews. i don’t know… but the truth is i really enjoyed reading it. really excited to hear the new album! 😀

D’awww. You still write your parent a Christmas list? That’s freaking cute, a little too cute for a 32-year-old guy. Love the part where you’re talking about using various tools to make music. Cannot wait for the new album with richer musical material than ever before, man.

That was a very nice interview. Now about the album I’ll love something more like HT and Meteora, I like MTM too, but there were many slow songs in that one. I actually prefer to rock with songs like Papercut and Braking the Habit, like when you are playing Rock Band 2 and One Step Closer comes on, the reanimation version you guys have with Jonathan Davis is awesome. I’m pretty sure you guys have something great to share with us in you next album. Now if you excuse me, I’m going to listen to 1stp Klosr 😀
PS: Come to Mexico (Monterrey!!) in you next tour! come on, it’s been an awfull long time since you where here!

Hi Mike, I will try to get an interview with you for the Linkin Park Spain magazine someday. It seems it would be hard, but you always says that if we want to reach dreams, we have to fight for them. I always wanna play the guitar on stage with your band, but this is another dream I don’t want to touch it yet lol. See you, David from LPSpain. Happy new year for you and your family.

Hello … Advance Happy New Year !!! What a magnificent interview… keep it up …
AustinW on December 28, 2009 at 2:20 pm
What a great interview! I really can’t wait to see what you guys throw down this time! It seems like with every album you guys improve on your sound, making the band seem better and better. All those haters who didn’t like Minutes To Midnight obviously aren’t real LP fans. For the real fans, the ones who love your music no matter what, 2010 will be a great year in music. Can’t wait to see you guys WIN a Grammy for What I’ve Done! Congrats on filling this decade with amazing music. Happy New Year to you and all the other guys!

Your fam x-mas sounds fun. Fuck-a-sweater Ask for toys!
A part of me just died inside. I ask for a fucking robot and no one takes me seriously. Sniff..3 foot Gaiking.
I’d tell you some tricks on the MPC you most likely already know… (but have no way of telling me because your a virtual floating head living in the depths of the internet) plus I have the 2kxl… Low end theory? Take a sample put it anything above a freq of 80 and then copy that same sample and take it down to 25 or under. ..Make them play simultaneously. Hear the love.

Hi Mike! Merry Christmas to you and your bandmates and family! Thanks for the interview and for the update! It’s good to hear that the new album is close to completion. Best wishes for the New Year!!! K

Thx for the post, already read it at LPU 🙂 I want to say that I really love your music, cause the lyrics feel so real and your sound is simply amazing. You guys are really fantastic musicians&songwriters and I can’t wait for the new album. I’m sure it will be absolutely fantastic. Like everything you guys did so far. Pls just go on like that, and everything’s okay! I’m a really freaky LP-Fan – my sis had told be about 1000 times, some day she’s going to kill me, cause I listen to LP and DBS all day long 🙂 So, do me a favor and come to Vienna/AT next year before my days on earth are counted 🙂
Hope you and the guys are fine! Thx for everything, you give us so much! Hugs, Bella

mike love this interview and funny that your family still treat Christmas like u were 13 me and my family do the same thing and thanks for the update on the new album and hay are u going to do another fort minor album you should i love the song that u did for it or add more of that type of stuff to linkin park but hay i am now sonding like all the other fans saying what i wont to hear. i would love any thing u put out thow as long as your happy with what u keep putting out i be happy also so far lp has not disappointed me at all so the new album wont eather just let the usa have first dibs that all i got to say thanks mike.
Jo_o8 on December 28, 2009 at 1:37 am
Mike great interview as always, very excited about the new album. You mentioned something about hopefully releasing songs in the future from different outlets, but i am hoping that you are still going to be releasing albums and not scrap the idea all together.
Justbiteme9 on December 27, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Thank you so much Mike… I loved Minutes to Midnight because it was different but still you could feel the LP’s soul in there, you showed that you could do awesome music without keeping the same old and safe sound, which tells me that you are awesome musicians, and I’m sure that the next album is gonna be just perfect. I can’t wait. It’s funny how people says that the old sound was better but if you had kept the old sound they would be complaining because “it’s always the same”. I think you should do what you feel like doing, because that’s what makes you great, different and in the end you have to live with that the rest of your life, you got to love it, not hate it or regret it.
ShadowerLiltani on December 27, 2009 at 3:31 pm
This interview didn’t tell me anything new… No offense, cause it’s a great, laid back interview. I personally just feel like interviews about the new album are pointless now, because there is so much you cannot say, in fear of either pissing off the label, spoiling it, or disappointing to many fans. BTW, fans on the LPU have whined so much about LP “releasing an album every 4 years”, that you, Mike, are beginning to say it. This scares me. Anyways, your xmas is almost exactly like my xmas, except we don’t eat turkey. I know how you feel, getting the 360 for me was a big challenge she brought on herself, and I thought for sure she’d come home with a plastic replica of the 360.
Ren87 on December 27, 2009 at 1:13 pm
Great interview! I am waiting for the new album, I hope it will be out soon and I really hope it’s gonna be more like Meteora and Hybrid Theory then like Minutes to Midnight! Cheers from Bulgaria 🙂
KATHYxx on December 27, 2009 at 12:49 pm
Spin always has good interviews.
Thanks for the update, Mike.

I saw it a few days ago…great interview! So the info around the album is pretty…interesting:DYou said that it’s going to have a brand new sound…like MTM?Anyway the last part of the interview was pretty sweet to all of us 🙂
Morinoajin on December 27, 2009 at 12:16 pm
Haha I love the “how do you spend your christmas” part 😄 Can’t wait to hear the new album 🙂 I joined LPU9 today!! 😀
ForeverChazy on December 27, 2009 at 11:47 am
Mike, I am rather confused with how you describe the new album and sound that comes along with it. You say you’re redefining the sound of the band, but isn’t that what you did with minutes to midnight? You changed the band’s style, which upset more fans then it did please them, and in some people’s opinions watered down the music from heavy rock to alternative/pop. When you say “redefine”, what exactly are you trying to imply? Does this mean making more MtM like music, going back to your sucessful roots, or once again creating something unlike anything we have heard before?
AndrewNeo on December 27, 2009 at 10:32 am
I can’t wait to hear the new album! But I really hope you’re back to rapping on it – it’s what I’m really here for!
