NEW Linkin Park App

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

As anyone who follows the band knows, we usually have a LOT of stuff going on.  The tough part for us is finding a simpler way to keep you guys up-to-date.  We’re trying out a new solution: the new Linkin Park App, for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android.

The app is FREE.  It has all the obvious stuff, like news and tour dates, but also plays all our LPTV episodes and videos, finds other LP fans in your area (if you want), and collects all Linkin Park online activity, all in one place.  You can connect it to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, so you can respond to a blog post or video without opening and closing a bunch of windows.  You can also shoot photos at the concert, and immediately upload them online using the app…and it ranks users based on activity, so if you’re active on our sites, you’ll get recognized.

It currently supports English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Dutch, and Turkish.  More to come.

For iTunes:
For Android:

Also, for those of you who have already downloaded the app, I just created a thread on the message board to discuss ways to make it better:

Cool, great idea, I’ll never be frustrated by the lack of LP news on vacations again. Great to see you got it on Android. Is there any chance of seeing 8-bit Rebellion on Android as well?

  6. madshell on August 14, 2010 at 4:53 am

ohhh finally i was kinda tired of checking out different sites to keep up to date with u guys!

  10. ebonarm on August 13, 2010 at 9:38 pm

Finally some Android love, thanks guys! So is the rebellion of 8-bit proportions making it on Android someday?

  11. nikkilreed on August 13, 2010 at 6:10 am

That’s a really awesome idea, Mike, but what about those of us who don’t have one of those devices? Is there a way we can connect to that app or something similar from out computers?

  12. bigbadxandro on August 13, 2010 at 6:05 am

I love it! I got it the day it came out. It’s pretty convenient. I always have like 8 tabs open in safari just to keep up with all the news! You can see everything on there! My 8-BR app is now next to my LP app(: !!

  15. linkinparkforever275 on August 12, 2010 at 9:09 pm

I like that it is coming out for Android rather than just Apple products. Ya’ll tend to be a little bias toward Apple stuff, and fans like me, who either don’t use or thoroughly hate Apple stuff, tend to miss out (like on the 8 Bit Rebellion game, for example). It’s cool that it’s free too, that will definitely hold people’s interest.

Considering that it ranks people by activity, I expect Jade, Ana B. and Kathy to be the most popular fans on the LP app, lol XD

  21. lode1989 on August 12, 2010 at 4:22 pm

I already have it and it’s awesome!! 8-Bit Rebellion is still most awesome thing on my Iphone!!

  22. pokesuke7 on August 12, 2010 at 2:37 pm

i will like to see in this app that everytime linkin park/mike make an update or something we receive a notification from the app to our ipod, iphone etc.. but i love this app because keep me closer to linkin park.. i love this app. lp rocks

  23. thomasbrablec on August 12, 2010 at 2:21 pm

Sounds great, all I’m missing is an iPhone or Android. I’ll just recommend it to my friends that have one.
    I can’t wait for “A Thousand Suns.”

  28. Kiara on August 12, 2010 at 11:56 am

Mike, I introduce you… my cell phone.
    The Nokia 1600.

    It’s really cool.
It allows me talk with my mom or send SMS, the battery can last a week…
It has no camera, but it has an (annoying) speaker alarm!
    And is grey.
(Of course I’m being sarcastic, for god’s sake! I wish I had an iPhone… 😥 I will recomend the application anyway xD)

  29. EpicLinkinPark on August 12, 2010 at 11:38 am

  30. lplovei on August 12, 2010 at 11:37 am

That is great an awesome way for you guys to keep your fans up to date. If I had the app, and an i-pod, i would definetly be an active fan. But i dont have the app or an i-pod 😦

  34. rdedre on August 12, 2010 at 10:58 am

  35. souneik on August 12, 2010 at 10:53 am

Can I hack it so that it works with my phone? Wait what is it?…psssh lol I gotta Crackberry, it just teleports me when I think about it. Have you ever read Hagakure? As unusual as this association is, I still consider you my friend. LOL …So your getting book recommendations dammit.

  37. toxicshellshock on August 12, 2010 at 10:41 am

Hey MIKE outside of the US i.e (SOUTH AFRICA, EUROPE, AUSTRALIA etc.) We mailnly use Nokia’s so we run Symbian, Symbian OS is also found on Sony Ericson etc. How about catering to us folk as well when you guys develop apps. THanX!

  39. cezar6lp on August 12, 2010 at 10:27 am

  40. andrewneo on August 12, 2010 at 10:20 am

Hey Mike, you should link to the Marketplace URL instead of the APK for the Android version, so it will update properly on people’s phones and stuff.

  41. Pablo-K on August 12, 2010 at 10:19 am

  42. curlylp on August 12, 2010 at 10:07 am

Mike you are coming to cologne in 5 days, which is my hometown. I hope I can make it to the pre-listening, so LPAssociation will be present 😉

  47. evooba on August 12, 2010 at 9:58 am

Yes! It’s actually the ultimate widget for the LP fans. I loved it the second I got it…now my iPhone has a folder named “Linkin Park <3" and it's my fave one 😀
And I liked seeing you post in there. Hopefully the other guys will do too. You what? It'd be super cool if you could add a chat page if you update it. 😀

  48. aninhalp on August 12, 2010 at 9:58 am

AMAZING!!! 😀 Thank you very much

  49. Julian on August 12, 2010 at 9:56 am

This is pure awesome! Too bad I don’t have an i-whatever, will recommend it to my non-LP-fan friends though =]
