Finding New Music

August 28, 2010

Some folks asked recently how I find new music. Here are three of my favorites.
Most of us already know about and use it. My favorite way to use Pandora? iPhone–free app, just plug it into the car, and you’re streaming awesome new–or your favorite old–music.
The MySpace Music Romeo app for iPad is my favorite new app. You decide what kind of video channel you want it to make, and it customizes it for you. The only downside: too many commercials. But it’s free, so hopefully a paid version that eliminates the ads is on the way.
This is internet radio made from music blogs…Whenever you make something like this, it’s all about the decision of which blogs to pull from. For my taste, this one is working. The design is clean, easy to use, and most importantly, the music is great.

I found A Day To Remember by randomly listening to those types of radio things. x3 I’m surprised I can type this.. wasted.. on painkillers.
I broke my toe. :O I walked into a wall while in the dark and it totally pwned my toe.. 😦

Romeo looks quite good, but the Pandora doesnt work outside US. I would be glad if you show more of your favourite ones.

Pandora does not work for Poland, MMR does not work for me – I don’t have iPad, but is awesome. Thanks for sharing, very useful, especially that I have a need for something new in my music library 😉
    Thanks again for sharing!

I checked out your last suggestion… Seemed cool, though, whenever I would click on an alternative or rock blog, the songs that popped up were from bands I’d never heard of, and seemed Indie to me… granted, I had the sound on mute lol

  8. souneik on August 28, 2010 at 9:08 pm

That’s pretty cool. I just force my friends to give me there old mix cds and I steal their soulscough* I mean research their likes that way too. Yes I’m weird, you should know this already. Ps: I win the hair growing contest. With the exception of Rob (Drummers don’t count cuz they need long hair-its in the bible)My hair is longer than all of yours combined. >:P

Mike! There is something wrong with that Pandora site. Everytime I try to listen to music on it, it keeps playing music by this awesome band called Linkin Park! Do you know how to fix it? I want to listen to crap music like NickelBack! HELP!

  11. EpicLinkinPark on August 28, 2010 at 6:29 pm

Very cool! Thanks for sharing Mike. I hope all is well, take care. :]

I do use Pandora! I haven’t heard of those other ones. I bet they have killer music though. Is that where you got those artist’s that you collaborated with in Fort Minor? Also, how come you always say ‘folks’ instead of people or something?

  15. jagta on August 28, 2010 at 2:10 pm

Those apps are good. I wonder if you’re still listenin’ to the radio nowadays.

  18. zara19lp on August 28, 2010 at 1:16 pm

Hm Pandora is for US people only, I dont have an iPad so Ill give a whirl. I usually go to or mflow for music, I’d recommend them both.

If I don’t like what I hear I’ll run back to the safety of Linkin Park.
