November 29, 2010World Tour 2010: Australia & U.S.
November 28, 2010I’m about to leave for Australia; very excited to see you guys this week. In the past few months, we’ve gotten some glowing reviews of the show (The Guardian, Burton Mail, Jerusalem Post, WitsAndNuts, and more)…and we’re thrilled to be bringing that show to our fans down under, where A THOUSAND SUNS has already gone platinum (thanks)! I’m hoping to play some great shows AND get some of my holiday shopping done (unfortunately, I think I’ve already bought enough boomerangs and kangaroo pouches for whoever might want them at home, so I’ll have to come up with better gifts for this year).
Speaking of gifts, our upcoming U.S. concert dates are posted here on LinkinPark.com–just in time for your holiday shopping. (Linkin Park concert tickets make a much better present than that stupid gift card you were going to get, FYI).
Linkin Park Gundam Collector’s Edition, Available Tomorrow
November 23, 2010Exciting news for Gundam collectors: tomorrow, a limited-edition Gundam model kit, bundled with our album A Thousand Suns, will be available. These images are from the packaging of the kit. The model looks like this:
The model kit is here on the heels of the “Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs.” arcade game, which uses The Catalyst as its theme song. This was the first time a western artist has ever been featured in a game bearing the Gundam name.
Here’s a great article about the collaboration:

(and for a little history lesson, here are some other times Linkin Park has crossed paths with Gundam / Gundam inspired imagery…)

Shinoda’s Hello Kitty Art Basel Miami preview
November 20, 2010I’ve been invited by Sanrio to participate in “Small Gift,” their 50th anniversary art show. The image above is an unfinished detail of the piece (it’s not the whole thing). My piece will be on display at Art Basel in Miami from Dec 2-5. Go here for more info.
(Special thanks to R. Gastman for coordinating everything)
LPUX CD now available
November 17, 2010The new LPUX CD is now available to LPU members. It’s definitely the strongest LPU album to date, with demos from all eras of the band. There are a few tracks on there with vocals from both me and Chester.
This is one of the tracks from the CD; it’s called “I Have Not Begun.” It was a demo recorded around 2009 (although the lyrics were written earlier, which you can tell because of the “Machine Shop” reference!).
Go to http://lpu.linkinpark.com/ to join the LPU. This album is available for purchase by club members (and, as mentioned before, LPU members get first access to tickets to our upcoming North American tour).

Back in the USA
November 16, 2010After a six-hour delay in the Tel Aviv airport and a long flight, I’m finally home. The last leg of the tour was awesome–a very memorable journey! Some of our best shows in Europe, and our first trip to the United Arab Emirates and Israel. Looking at the comments in the LinkinPark.com forum, a lot of people had an amazing time at the show.
We’ve finally announced that we’re going to be bringing the new show back home, to the U.S. and Canada. Get your tickets now, before anyone else…

Fans “Thank You” Video
November 11, 2010Big shout out to all the fans who attended The Summit today (and yesterday), and to the amazing people at LPAssociation who made this video possible. We saw it, and we appreciate it!
From the LPA notes under the video:
Many of us can remember how we discovered Linkin Park. To many fans, the initial experience of listening to “Hybrid Theory” from start to finish would prove to be life altering, and would steer many lives in completely unexpected directions. “Hybrid Theory” can fondly be looked back upon as a soundtrack to many of our lives in the early twenty-first century. For some, listening to the album would bring them back from the brink of despair, while others would meet lifelong friends and companions through shared love of the same band and its music.
This video is our way of giving back to the band that has changed our lives in such a positive way, and who have given us the strength to make it through.
Created via the use of over 100 submissions sent over a two week period by fans from over 20 different countries, this video slide-show is a heartfelt look into the impact Linkin Park’s music has had on all of our lives.
On behalf of the entire Linkin Park fan community, LPAssociation.com, the LPU, the LPMB and the Linkin Park street team, we would like to express our deepest thanks and gratitude to the band for the life-changing music they have given us, and for their unwavering dedication to their fans.
Here’s to another 10 years.
Thanks Mike, Chester, Brad, Rob, Phoenix and Joe!

First-Ever LPU Summit Starts Today
November 10, 2010For those of you who are attending The Summit: welcome to London; we hope you have a lot of fun today. After getting settled, there will be a couple Music For Relief projects, and a football (not the American kind) tournament at Hyde Park.
We decided to keep day one simple, since some people are just getting into town–in some cases they’re coming from far away. Some of you are meeting up (in many cases, in person for the first time), and planing your own events around the LPU ones. Great!
Tomorrow will be packed full of events, including opportunities to check out a tour bus, take photos on our stage, win signed stuff, and jam on the band’s instruments. I’m putting this guitar out there for you guys to play:

We’re also going to be sitting down with you guys for a while tomorrow, and we’ll be signing stuff for the entire group.
We hope this is the first of many great events for the new LPUnderground. To join the LPU, go here:
