PATRICK MARTINEZ: HUSTLEMANIA

PATRICK MARTINEZ – HUSTLEMANIA

Here’s a little preview of a surprising show I just got a preview of, by LA-based Patrick Martinez.  The title of the show was inspired by a neon piece Martinez completed in 2008 titled “Selling Out is the
New Keeping it Real.”  Here are some of the standout pieces in the show, which runs from March 19th – April 9th at Known Gallery.  Check out the mixed media, with working neon overlaid…

This is fascinating, to say the least. Wish I could take a gander at it. I know my artist boyfriend would blow a gasket of excitement.

Dude, thanks for sharing stuff like this with us. Makes me feel more cultured. >3 Also cool to see what kinds of things inspire you and get your blood pumping.

Is LA the city to be when you’re talking about art? I sometimes really wonder what in America could be counted as an “art-city”. I would love to check out some exhibitions (:

Cheddar Cheese Cake sounds like a Wheel of Fortune puzzle😄 (Yes, I know it says “Cheese Cheddar Cake”).

Moving on, that looks like a really interesting medium in which to do art. Cool stuff. I always appreciate it when you share stuff like this.🙂

Yeah, this had me going on a happy artistic story and then I saw the cheese cheddar cake and now that is all I can think about. It sounds very yummy😀

Interesting artwork. It’s of course going to be a lot more interesting to see in person than on your blog. There are some days I really wish I had the money to fly to LA or live there. The art shows alone are worth it.

Patrick Martinez is really awesome! Known Gallery has some great shows this year! We should definitely keep an eye on them!😄
Is it bad, that I like it when you’re home instead of touring? I know that you have that band, that I just happen to be a fan of, but I also love your “artsy” side and I really hope that you’ll do an art show soon. I know it’s pretty selfish, but I just want you to create one thing after the next, or even simultaneously! ;-D
PS: I’m still running that art contest, so if someone wants to participate, just click on my name. Deadline is March 31.
PSS: Mike, I’m still waiting for that LP Tour date in Cologne or Duesseldorf ;-D
