I want to play your music on LP radio

May 29, 2011

I’m planning some more additions to our LP radio station on IHeartRadio, and wondered if there are any great tracks by YOU that I should play. Post ONE link below (in the comments), and I’ll check them out. If I like what I hear, I’ll add it to the playlist.

One more thing: don’t spam…I’ll be a lot less likely to play your music.

EDIT: Sorry I wasn’t clear…I don’t actually need any music recommendations from bands we’ve all heard of.  I’m looking for your demos–your music–to feature on the station.  Thanks!

“Iridescent” artwork contest

May 25, 2011

Our fans have made lots of awesome Linkin Park-inspired artwork over the years. Today, we announced a contest that gives one winner a chance to get their work seen by millions of people. We’re looking for someone to create an original piece of art for our new single, “Iridescent.” The winner will be showcased in front of more than 30 million fans online and will be featured at our performance for the Transformers: Dark of the Moon premiere in Moscow’s Red Square on June 23.

Go here to submit your art or for more info. Submission deadline is June 12.

Here’s my entry. Unless you guys come up with something better, we’re going to use this:

EDIT: We’re already starting to see submissions. Know what I want to see more of? Illustrations and paintings.

New Linkin Park Radio!

May 23, 2011

I recently updated our Linkin Park radio station, and did some talkin’ with Jensen Karp (voice of the Hype Men podcast and owner of Gallery 1988).  He got me to call some Linkin Park fans on the phone, with the intention of getting them to:

1.) talk trash about us,
2.) demand what our next album should sound like, and
3.) find out who we should kick out of the band.

Year Of The Labbit

May 6, 2011

As a young kid, I used to read the “Usagi Yojimbo” comic book, so I’m happy to be participating in the “Year Of The Labbit” art show, a celebration of both Stan Sakai’s “Usagi Yojimbo” series and Frank Kozik’s “Happy Labbit” customizable vinyl collectible. Here’s my piece, in progress.

The show will be at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles from July 14 – September 11. All pieces will be on sale through the museum store.

Announcement: LPU Enhancements to Include Merchandise Package, No Extra Fees, & Free LPTV Downloads

May 2, 2011

We’re constantly working to make LP Underground more than a fan club–we envision it as the best way for people who like the Linkin Park’s music to get closer to the band and community of LP.  Today, we announced a list of enhancements to LPUX in a massive email, direct to the fans.  Since it was a really long email, I thought I’d list a few highlights.  Here are my three favorite new additions to LPU:

1.) A physical merchandise package (annual members).  This package includes a limited edition t-shirt, cell phone/device case, an original art print (by me) and other items.  Members who join today will get the package as part of your annual fee.  Existing members will get the package in the mail for no extra cost (LPU is absorbing the costs–even those outside the US).

2.) The brand new LPTV downloadable video library.  Members can download ANYTHING in the history of LPTV for free, optimized for your laptop, iPad, and select phones.  These episodes go back as far as “Meteora,” so there’s a lot to see (and download) there.

3.) Another LPU Summit is on the way.  This one, our fourth, will be held in Hamburg, Germany on June 21!  At past Summit events, fans met the band, saw sound checks and intimate acoustic performances, worked on Music For Relief charity events, toured the crew bus and backstage, and more.  Check out footage from Summit events, and reserve your spot at the upcoming Summit in Hamburg at the link below.  Fans have traveled from all over the world to be at these events, so act fast to reserve your spot at the Hamburg Summit.

These are all added features–all the other benefits of being an LPU member are still in tact.  To learn more about LPU or sign up to become a member, go to LPUnderground.com.
