Big Fan of you Mike. You are very talented, keep doing what you’re doing.
shoegaze4u on April 5, 2012 at 11:01 pm
@Drumrruben Yes, you are right. I meant Daftpunk of course 🙂 The film has no connection to facebook, because it’s too old. But in Tron it was a matter, that the digital world and the real world merge together. And that is a little bit, was Facebook does. Btw I also don’t have a Facebook account 😉
drumrruben on April 5, 2012 at 6:50 am
Yo @SHOEGAZE4U, I think you got your facts wrong. The soundtrack for TRON Legacy was created by Daft Punk. And I don’t really see the connection between TRON and Facebook.. But yeah, I don’t have Facebook so I can’t really know 😛
mercenary18 on April 5, 2012 at 1:15 am
LOL wow….when I hear it put like this, it really makes me wish I never joined FB haha
shoegaze4u on April 4, 2012 at 2:52 am
I remember my first online-data-traffic. It was 1995 and we called it BTX in Germany. The transmission was very very very slow, just text without images, and it was expensive. And look at today: Most mobiles are mini computers, online wherever you are. The world become more and more digital – even our “friends”.
Reminds me at the movie ‘Tron’. Btw the score of ‘Tron Legacy’ done by the Deftones is awesome.
Mike, did they inspire you for The Raid?

At 1995 I met the computer (I was 15), and to me, every things about computers was extraordinary and incredible. I don’t think it would be scary like some guys posted. I think it would be great and awesome if facebook was arond 😀

I was born in 1992 and my parents bought our first computer in 2000. I remember sitting in front off the computer for hours thinking that solitaire was the best game that they could ever come up on this machine. Boy was I wrong…
ericadraven33193 on April 3, 2012 at 1:07 pm
1995….First year in HS for me. I remember aol chatrooms, Minesweeper and of course solitare. Funny how times have changed. If you would’ve told me that 17 yrs later that we could video chat on our cell phones, or communicate by “tweets” I would’ve thought that you were insane
Alexandra Nofi on April 3, 2012 at 12:22 pm
Back then, I was so caught up in DOS games like Kid Pix, Dig Dug, Sim City, Crystal Caves, Star Trek, Minesweeper, and so on that even if Facebook had been around in ’95, I would have had no interest in it (neither would my mother and father who are now both as obsessed with the site as I am). Of course, that would likely be due to the fact that in ’95 I was nine years old…
Seriously though, they need to make a version of Kid Pix that can be used on Windows 7 and the latest Mac OS, for it’s time, it was such a great digital art program and so kid friendly. I literally spent hours playing that game!

Videos like this make me want my Amiga 500 back. Mortal Kombat was way more awesome on that thing!
I think I will send my profile picture to Facebook HQ and ask them to scan it for me…
therosko on April 3, 2012 at 10:43 am
Lol! Perfect way to describe what facebook is all about. I love the one-month-photo thingy haha.
emzlp123 on April 3, 2012 at 10:42 am
You mean that there’s a more modern version than the one shown in the video? Damn technology must move fast! I wonder if my windows 95 could handle the fast pace life of “The Facebook”…?
Have a nice day sir!

evooba on April 3, 2012 at 9:47 am
Whoa…seriously, imagine being able to have an internet connection on your cell back then. How funny would it be to hold one of those “high tech” phones and accessing a mobile version of the Facebook seen on the video, LOL right?
manyalp on April 3, 2012 at 9:47 am
Hilarious, Mike!!! Thanks for sharing!
“in the future, facebook will be free, but now you have to pay your phone bills to stay online” 🙂
