What to watch / What to make

August 3, 2014

I mentioned on Twitter a few days ago that I’m planning on doing a vlog from the road on Carnivores tour; I’ll post a new video once a week.  Shoot me ideas and suggestions by following me on Twitter (HERE), and I’ll try to incorporate them as I go.  Not sure what’s going to happen or how it might evolve.

The episodes will end up on our LP Youtube channel (subscribe now!), and unlike the normal LPTV episodes, my vlog videos will be short, no-budget, firsthand accounts, probably shot on my phone.

The tour starts this week.  Until then, here’s the latest LPTV episode, following the band through the end of the tour in Europe:

Hey Mike…been there for your previous (and unfortunately, the only so far) show in Romania. I see that you’re touring Europe. Any chance to come to Romania again? Until that time comes, I took the liberty to review your Hunting Party. Loved the album and still finding new sounds and shadows and lights each time I listen to it again and again.

Hey, fittingly @veritasium uploaded a video about the 13 biggest misconceptions about climate change a few days ago. I can only recommend watching it!

Hi Mike, I’ll be seeing you guys on Sep 15 so I’m pretty excited about that. I guess anything that you vlog about like behind the scenes, or anything funny/unexpected or just a random fan’s (or crew) point of view. But I bet you’ll come up with something fun to vlog about😉

Do a vlog where you admit that you’re a CLONE MADE BY ILLUMINATI IN 2006 TO REPLACE THE REAL MIKE SHINODA WHO WAS KILLED BY JAY-Z! ADMIT THIS, STOP LYING!!!!

I would love to see the making of The Hunting Party even if it’s not a cheap things talking about work to cut all the scene and so on . I really miss the “making of” for this album in particular because it’s tape recorded and heavier than the last few albums.

Hi Mike🙂 You do something from backstage, when you are in car in the way to the concert, something simple and ordinary cause in your edition this videos are the best. Say hello to us- LP Fans and play on piano something for us.
We want to be closer to You Guys! Thank you for your music, voices and personality!

    With Love
    Palba

    Great idea, Mike!😀

Well, I’d love to see more backstage moments with the band and the roadies, how you plan the next steps of the tour. It would be great to present us all the crew members – who & what s/he does. Also, I’d love to see more after-show moments and another idea would be to quickly show us the highlights of a touring day: waking up, first moment when you meet up with your band mates, having lunch, sound checks, traveling between hotel and venue, visiting the city when time permits, maybe when one of you calls home and talks with his beloved ones. Bottom line, I’d love to see more unofficial footage, different from what we watch in the LPTV and LPUTV episodes. Have fun!

Anything backstage would be cool to see!

Hi Mike. I love all the LPTV stuff and I’m looking forward to your vlog. It gives us a feeling as we are on tour with you guys🙂 I have no special ideas for your videos. Just push the record button whenever you feel comfortable with it.

Fabulous. I love how accessible LP have always been – it makes a refreshing change from a lot of modern bands who haven’t really accepted digital media/marketing as part of their forte.

Don’t think about it too much when you vlog – from watching people on YouTube, the best ones always seem to be people who just show you parts of their day and what they’re doing, rather than trying to do this or do that.

That’s a nice idea. I don’t know if you follow any YouTube vloggers but you can check a couple and adapt certain ways of vlogging from them? Like see what they film or whatever and come up with ideas for your own vlog. You’re a creative guy so that won’t be an issue! It can be anything really; you talking about how the day went, strolling around the buses and having people say hi, or like film your pre-show warm up.
I can’t wait to see how it’ll go actually. Good luck!🙂

I wish you could make a show in Sao Paulo and Rio, Brazil. Your band didnt say anything about our cities, just BH and Brasilia. This is the last chance to meet you personally for the first time.😦
I dont have money enough to go to those States because they’re really far away from Sao Paulo. May you could help us..?
