The Raid film score

September 9, 2011

For a long time, I have been wanting to score a film. In order for it to work, it would have to have a great story, stunning visuals, and the timing would have to work out in a way that didn’t distract from all the things I want to do with Linkin Park.

I’m really excited to have finally found the right project. The movie is called The Raid. Its intense martial arts choreography, amazing cinematography, and great story have been inspiring all kinds of new music. I’m excited for all of you to see—and hear—this film.

Below is the trailer (via MTV). It is age restricted due to violent content. I’ve attached some photos beneath that for those who can’t view the video.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Lyrics In Print: ABC

November 29, 2008

When your girl has left you out on the pavement (goodbye)

Then your dreams fall apart at the seams

Your reason for livings your reason for leaving

Dont ask me what it means

Thats the look, thats the look

The look of love

If you judge a book by the cover,

Then you’d judge the look by the lover

I hope youll soon recover,

Me I go from one extreme to another

And though my friends just might ask me

They say martin maybe one day youll find true love

I say maybe, there must be a solution

To the one thing, the one thing, we cant find

Thats the look, thats the look

The look of love

Thats the look, thats the look

The look of love

Thats the look, thats the look

Sisters and brothers

Should help each other

Oh, oh, oh

Heavens above

hip hip hooray-ay

yippee ai yippee ai yay

Thats the look, thats the look

Be lucky in love

Look of love

My favorite part? “If you judge a book by the cover, Then you’d judge the look by the lover”

I think there’s a logic problem in there somewhere, but I’m too confused by the rest of the lyrics to actually break it down. If you haven’t heard this song, it’s possible that “Heavens above / hip hip hooray-ay / yippee ai yippee ai yay” is a little less funny when taken out of context…but not likely.

As previously noted, has an RSS feed. I wanted to take a second to talk about how to use it. If you’re already an RSS user, ignore this post, and feel free to pitch in with your “expert” RSS suggestions in the comments section. I’ll paraphrase a few key notes by Tim Ferris and Ryan Holiday. For an in-depth look at what Ryan had to say, go HERE

In a nutshell, RSS is like TiVo for your web browsing–you pick what you like, and it retrieves it. You just subscribe to the sites that you visit regularly, and they show up when something is new. You can do it via GOOGLE READER, or something similar.

Important note: a lot of web mail readers will allow you to subscribe to an RSS feed as well. if you’re on a Mac, like me, you can simply add it to your Mac Mail RSS tab; you just go under File / Add RSS Feeds, and paste in the RSS feed weblink. When new posts show up on, they’ll simply (and immediately) show up in your email inbox. Very handy.

For everyone that wants to subscribe to my RSS feed, this is the link

EDIT: weird that the RSS link isn’t working for some of you. try copying and pasting?

thanks for being understanding about the new rule (one post each). i think many of us has posted a multi-post comment at some point. no worries if you have…it seemed like it was simply time to put the rule into effect.

also, it has come to my attention that there are people out there on the web that are using this software to create their posts. if you see one of these people posting on this site, please let them know that it is unnecessary for them to use it here.

thanks for understanding,
the management

PS – yes, i did just multi-post about the new rule against multi-posting. why? because i can, foo.

about the last post

January 2, 2008

1.) when i put someone’s name in a post, stop assuming you know who it is. i know more than one person by the name “mark.” just like i know more than one person by the name brad, joe, dave, rob, jay, chris, chester…ok, maybe not chester.

2.) for those hard-core smif n wessun / boot camp fans (of which there are probably only one or two who visit this blog), i realize the “sound bwoy” video has some differences from the album version of the song–but rather than putting up the song (the version of which i like better), i decided to put up this version because i thought it would be more fun to see something as we listen…but THEN i found this video for one of their other songs, which i had never seen…what?
