Just a couple random things today: First, Happy B-Day to Mr. Delson (it was yesterday). Today, I’m heading over to the Grammy announcement event. A couple of the guys and I are presenting a category. In case you didn’t know, they’re making a mini-event out of the award nominations (not the actual awards, it’s the announcement of who is nominated). Check online for clips of that today.
One other thing I wanted to mention is that we’re in the process of re-designing linkinpark.com and mikeshinoda.com. I think ms.com will be done first, because it’s a less complicated site. For those of you who have a password and LPN account, we’re going to be asking everyone to create a new account. I think it might be an opt-in system, so you can keep your existing name and password if you like. The good news is: we’re working on making the sign-in system a lot easier, so you don’t have to keep clicking on stupid stuff (I know this was annoying to some of you). There will be some other minor changes that might be useful for you; we’ll talk about those later.

First concert of the tour…and it wasn’t ours 
Went to U2 last night with the Phoenix. Pretty great–a good mix of the old and new songs, plus a ridiculous $25 Million stage that looks like a space bug. The video screens were my favorite part.

PS: “Participating” in an art show means that I’m going to have a painting in the Ron English / Michael Lau art show. I’m physically going to be doing shows in Europe (unless I figure out how to clone myself before then, in which case my clones will be at those events, and I will be in the Carribean).
Looks like Art Center isn’t the only college with impeccable taste in commencement speakers. Our own Brad Delson has been chosen as UCLA’s keynote speaker at the Letters and Science commencement ceremony. An excellent choice; we’ll be looking forward to seeing what Mr. Delson has to say to the young graduates.
On a related note, the information got picked up by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, whose comment was short and, of course, ssssassy. He said, “We’re sure the kids in this year’s graduating class are thinking, ‘Wait, what’s Linkin Park?’” LOL. I wasn’t surprised that Perez made a snarky comment about it…I was surprised he was so out of good celeb news that he had to resort to posting about Linkin Park. Or so out of good celeb news that he had to make a joke that UCLA was so out of good celebs…wait, what?

I did an interview with Carson Daly for his show yesterday. Keep an eye out for it on his show. We talked about New Divide, the new record, and listening to NWA and 2 Live Crew when we were kids. I don’t know when they’re going to air it, but it should be in the next couple of weeks.
We also talked about the new white and green MS/DC Remix sneakers…speaking of which, it’s your last chance to get 20% off on stuff in the mikeshinoda.com web store.
